Just a nice guy with a good heart, looking for the right person to share it with...

Not into bars, got over that in my twenties and thirties, don't feel like going back to it now... Busy life and that "R" word (responsibilities for those of you who have made it this far in life without becoming familiar with that word) frequently gets in the way of meeting new people. So here I am.

Honesty and trust are everything with me. If you are unable to give it, you get nothing in return. Abuse it, and you are left with nothing.

Basic coping skills are required. Life is just too short for mindless drama. (You're an adult! Just deal with it!) If it doesn't work out, it probably just wasn't meant to be, and something that was meant to be is still out there waiting for you to find it.

Animal lover is kinda obvious from the pictures, bonus points if you love exotic parrots. Sorry cat lovers but cats would terrify my little birds, and my big birds would terrify your cats. (A cat is a sport to a macaw. See kitty jump! Hear bird laugh and squeal with delight. Watch the bird dive bomb the cat. See kitty doing laps around the room half way up the wall... Oh yes, they would!)

I'm not kid phobic, and the father of a 12 year old daughter who is with me more often than not, so I probably have more in common with a single parent these days. And no, your teenager doesn't scare me! ("Don't MAKE ME embarrass you in front of your friends! Cuz I'll do it you know...!")

Open minded is always a plus. Some degree of common sense is REQUIRED. Anyone dating me will probably need to be slightly adventurous (or one or both of us may be bored) cuz you wouldn't want to be left behind, and I would want you with me, not going out alone. No, you don't have to jump out of airplanes (unless you want to) but I prefer a woman who is active, and willing to try a few new things once in awhile.

Someone honest, open, secure with themselves. Non-control freak please. Nice person. Fun to have around. Reasonably attractive. Stable. Down-to-earth. Someone in the range of slightly adventurous to complete adrenaline junkie would fit. (Double bonus points if you kiss me in freefall someday.) Someone in the range of non-kid phobic to family oriented would work.

What I don't want on a first date is to think I was meeting someone for coffee, or what ever, and end up feeling like it was my first job interview... "Now accepting applications for "THE ONE." Must be yada, yada, yada, blah, blah... [That makes this a business date/business arrangement situation. I don't want the job.]

Light and simple works for me for a first date... Then? What are we in the mood for at this particular moment in time. Well, let's do that...

Stop trying to impress everybody and just be yourself. This is supposed to be something we are doing for fun? Right? So why don't we plan on doing something fun... Preferably something that ultimately leads to fits of non stop laughter. (We don't laugh because we are feeling good. We feel good because we remember to laugh.)

And PUH-LEEZE, leave the laundry list of gotta be this, gotta have that at home. Honestly, what ever happened to just taking your time and getting to know someone without any pressure, or unreasonable expectations?!
