I am not sure what to say about myself. I realize this is a sales pitch of sorts but how to provide a glimpse into who I am; that is the tough part. After all, if I were a whiz at marketing I would be in sales instead of an engineer. Simply stated, I am here because I am lonely and would like to meet someone to spend time with. I am not the usual guy in many respects. I don’t particularly care to watch sports for one. I enjoy cooking, appreciate art, and enjoy plays and movies. I like action movies but given the choice prefer films that make me think; that provide a window for further self-reflection or discussion. I enjoy going out but also like staying in to curl up on the couch or in bed. I love laying in bed on a cool evening listening to the wind rustle the leaves or the sound of a gentle rain at daybreak. I enjoy feeling the warm sun on my face on a crisp autumn afternoon. My favorite season is the fall and I love the smell of the dried leaves and crunching through them while walking in the woods. I am active and physically fit. I belong to a local bicycle club and enjoy bicycling and bicycle touring. I edit their newsletter and also active in bicycle advocacy issues. I have dabbled in eastern philosophy for a time studying tantra, which is a sort of spiritual, meditative approach to sexuality. I am not a superficial person and want to meet someone who is like-minded in that regard.

I do have one request and I apologize if this sounds negative: If you are not interested in at least following up with a response of some kind, then don't contact me. I am tired of wasting my time responding to women who contact me, only to not get any response back. If you are not serious, then go find someone else to play with. At the very least, let me know you aren't interested. I have better things to do with my time then sit at the computer composing responses to contacts only to never hear back.

What I would like to do on a first date is to meet either for dinner or drinks on the deck at Tony's Pasta in the art district on a warm summer evening. We would become so engrossed in the conversation that an hour or two would pass before we knew it. Then we would go walking by the art museum and across the Walnut Street Bridge, enjoying the evening and each others company.
