About Me
Disclaimer: I'm currently in Korea until Jan. 2010 but would love some msgs in the meantime!
When back in Vancouver, I'm looking for someone to hang out with, share a laugh, eat somewhere new, go see a free lecture/ film festival. Bonus if you have a post secondary education, sarcastic sense of humour, and are on the left side of the political spectrum. We're off to a solid start if you have these three qualities. I did a personality test on POF, and this is in sum what I'm looking for: a person who has a good degree of energy, enthusiasm and self-efficacy like me, as opposed to someone who needs constant nurturing and reassurance to feel empowered and valued as a person. This sounds a little cold hearted. I just don't want to baby a guy, and walk him through every decision he makes. In the future I hope to work in a career where I'm able to assist disadvantaged people, either locally or internationally. But before I'm able to do that, I should complete a master's degree and see more of the world.
This is pretty much the funniest thing i've ever seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiFrfeJ8dKM

Things that really grind my gears: Nickelback, neoliberalism,UFC, decaf coffee, toe socks, country music,10$ high-balls, Armani Exchange, dolls, people who care about their lawns, kimchi, people who say half a dozen instead of six, girls who brush their hair in public, guys/girls who sell out their friends for whoever they are dating at the moment.
“The goal of a good society is to structure social relations and institutions so that cooperative and generous impulses are rewarded, while antisocial ones are discouraged. The problem with capitalism is that it best rewards the worst part of us: ruthless, competitive, conniving, opportunistic, acquisitive drives, giving little reward and often much punishment -- or at least much handicap -- to honesty, compassion, fair play, many forms of hard work, love of justice, and a concern for those in need.” Michael Parenti.

Pick strawberries and make a pie? Play squash or bocce ball? Go kayaking? Pretty much anything is fun as long as there's chemistry.
