Before I get into explaining myself, a bit of honesty... it's really difficult to describe yourself in a certain amount of words on here, so what follows is just an attempt. If you take this as "this is exactly how this guy is", then unfortunately you're not what I am looking for.

I'm a fairly atypical 32/m looking for friends first, and whatever happens down the road is fine with me - I have no expecations! I am very laid back and easy to get along with, and have a GREAT sense of humor. I absolutely love music - I play in a band and I write and perform my own songs. I am a HUGE animal lover - I have several pets, and I volunteer for a special needs animal shelter here in town that specializes in taking in blind, deaf, and abused animals.

I know exactly what I am looking for, so if you message me and I don't respond, let me apologize in advance - I am not trying to be rude, but I am selective, as I am sure many of you are, as well.

I would prefer to meet people close to my age. I love kids, but would prefer to meet people who, if they have children, only have one at most. I have always wanted my kids to be my own - I am open-minded, but I have found that most women with 2 kids or more don't want any more, and I definitely want at LEAST one child of my own.

I am open to pretty much anything on a first date as long as it's something that involves the ability to talk and interact a lot, so that I can get to know the other person. Things like movies are great for dates, but not till you know someone well enough to know that you're already really interested. I would much prefer to find out who someone is on the first date to see if a second (or more) is worth our time.
