I am a multidegreed professional looking for my brilliant and inspiring match. I love the outdoors and adventure. Hobbies include diving, marine biology, muscle cars and cooking.

You should be educated, find yourself attractive and have a sense of humor about the world. You will need it with me as I will keep you on your toes! Don't worry its all good.

Those sufficiently intrigued to get this far there are 10 things you need to know about me. If you get to know me you will learn I am real. You will either love me or hate me. That is your decision. Either way, I will still be me. You will not change me. Someone tried (and failed.)

1. I have a childlike curiosity that is easily captured. I still play with legos. This side of me is often overshadowed by the responsible side.
2. I am extremely down to earth. I drive a Chevy and an Oldsmobile. But what a Chevy and Olds they are!
3. I will go diving or fishing any reasonable opportunity. I said reasonable. You will not be a boating widow. Reasonable is not every weekend, during planned events or when I have other responsibilities. When I go I would love to have you along.
4. I get greasy. Those cars and boat you all want to ride in need maintenance. I like to know when I am 40 miles from shore or in a 40 year old car that the work was done right and I can get home. Sometimes I shower with Gojo. Yes, despite my degrees, I might be a redneck. I have been known to rebuild carburetors, water pumps and hydraulic pumps on the kitchen counter or coffee table.
5. I love animals. I have two cats, countless fish and invertebrates. There will be a large dog in my near future. The furry ones sleep with me.
6. I have kids. 6 and 8. I see them wed's and alternating weekends and holidays. They are really important to me. This is non negotiable. If you don't want kids around, you don't want me.
7. I can fix anything. It is a blessing and a curse. I dig ditches, clean toilets, hange sheetrock, paint, rebuild engines, etc.
8. I am a political conservative with liberal leanings with respect to environmental issues. I respect an educated difference of opinion. I don't respect victim mentalities.
9. I am close to my family. I talk to mom, dad and siblings several times a week. They visit often.
10. I am active. I do not work out 5 days a week. I do a lot of work around the house, run a couple of days a week and hit the weights when I can. Marathon runners tell me I walk to fast. Weekends will find me on the beach, on the boat, camping, roller blading, fishing, kayaking, hiking, rafting, attending concerts and plays, bbqing with friends and family, the list goes on.

One last thing. I am a biologist by training, please don't tell me what I should not eat. I know where I am on the food chain. Humans were not meant to eat weeds as their sole means of sustenance. I like a good steak, fish and yes I also eat my share of meatless and/or organic meals.
