Hi, my name's Stas, and I need to update this profile occasionally!
I'm a writer/editor/nitpicker, graduated with an English degree from Ottawa U, and realizing that while culture is priceless, comfort's expensive.
I run 10K races, and for anyone who gives a damn or would like to know or is curious, my personal best is 38:42, and I run in the most stupendously, scandalously short shorts (go alliteration!) one can imagine. They are likely a carnal sin in and of themselves.
Yeah, I'm a geek... but I really enjoyed typing that last part.
Drugs are a deal-breaker for my relationships; too much history and too little patience on my part with drug use. I like to drink reasonably, and I don't smoke... umm, that covers that, I guess?
I'm frequently random, and I love off-colour humour.
I've done safer sex workshops, especially really off-the-wall topics; that means I'm pretty comfortable with sex talk--as long as we remember to be not creepery.

I work for YSB doing a variety of queer-related stuff: it's interesting enough that I enjoy it, but I don't go nuts talking about it...
PEOPLE I'M INTO (not complete by any means, and not necessary, necessarily :-P):
I like people who are fun, can communicate, and are smart and expressive--I like being silly a lot, but I want to be able to talk seriously sometimes with people. Those are just a few things...
More likes: People who are active, in terms of physical activity, but also in terms of thinking and such. I like being with people with whom I can have all sorts of fun, whether movie, or conversation, or skipping down the street at midnight singing "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead," so being extroverted is a big plus for me.
BIG THING: I like people with initiative and a well-defined personality--it's important for me to also get that sort of interaction going that can only exist with people who are comfortable speaking their minds. People say I'm really intense sometimes, so your being able to handle that is probably good for both of us.
And even more likes: People who are willing to put the time in as much as I am; we all work, we all have different priorities, but I find that I make time for friendships that matter, and I really notice and appreciate when others do the same for me. People who are genuine are also really appealing... be yourselves folks!
I like a lot of things apparently.
PEOPLE I'M NOT INTO:
Insincere, artificial people, douchebags. Obviously. Other than that, people who expect me to always take the lead or always expect me to follow--it's only fair to take turns at the proverbial steering wheel.
I'm not interested in hookups. While I certainly enjoy fooling around, I like to know who I'm doing things with. Flattering nonetheless though!
Back to the about me:
If I like something, I will say so; if I don't like something, I'll also say so. If I don't like something, just take it at face value and move on :-) I like to try new things, but I'm pretty solid when I actively dislike something. I'm also solid when I like something. Maybe gaseous? Who knows...
Shakespeare is awesome. He rocks my socks. In an Elizabethan way... so maybe my leggings?
I like biking about with people, even though my bike's a deathtrap.
I have 15 piercings, and I've got a tribal tattoo sleeve on my left arm. I like piercings and tattoos on people (duh) but I'm more interested in people than in their decorations.
Movies are a lot of fun, and I love seeing them with people, as long as the movie's not obscenely terrible. Well, if it's obscenely terrible, we can poke fun at it, and that's a blast.
And I love the dancing banana animation, it makes me smile

:-D
*cough*
That covers it for me!
Cafes, movies, all those are good options... it'd really depend on the other person, as I'm a fairly adaptable guy. I like original ideas though, especially when they're off the wall!
But no monster trucks or wrestling shows... okay, okay, one monster truck. As long as it's named Crushzilla or something else like that.
