I grew up a small town boy from the Midwest, where going out to dinner meant the back yard and paper plates on the picnic table. I've tried to never forget my manners. I like my roots but San Diego is now my home and I love it here. My naval career has given me the ability to say "been there, done that" about many things, but the moments, places, and smiles when shared with someone special are still on my bucket list. Normally shy at first, I warm up quickly given the right chemistry. I try not to take myself too serious and am very trusting until given a reason not to. I'm easy going, like to have fun and easy to entertain. I love watching the same movie over and over, hot tubs on a cold night, cold beer, Bronx Pizza, seared Ahi and CNN. Sometimes I even work at perfecing the art of doing absolutely nothing. I will always try something at least once except sing Karaoke. I like antiques and vintage furniture. Quality over quantity except when eating ice cream. My garage is full of power tools, so you design it and I'll build it. I like to travel and play tourist. My coolest trips have been to the North Pole, India and Israel. I have two left feet but would rather dance than sit it out, though you may have to drag me at first. I have a totally amazing 11yr. old daughter who lights up the room, works hard and makes my day just by thinking of her. My ideal match.... she's comfortable in her own skin, cares for her friends and neighbors, takes care of herself, open minded, has dreams and aspirations. She can have just as much fun in a dive bar wearing jeans and playing pool as she can downtown being spoiled. With karma to spare, she'd help a friend move and only take a slice of pizza in return. She likes quiet nights in front of the fire saying nothing as well as a heated discussion world peace. She's affectionate, loves the way my hand feels in hers, has soft lips that like to be kissed, and won't hesitate to poke me in the ribs when I need it. She's independent and respects my independence. But most importantly, and last but not least, she has enough time in her busy, independent, fun loving life to get to know me, and not by dinner or a movie, but many, many little moments that matter.

If it's a first meeting I'll defer to whatever makes you comfortable. Either a coffe shop, ice cream parlor, or a cozy bar in your neighborhood. If there's chemistry then flexibility is the rule. If it's the first real date after meeting, then a cozy romantic bar or restaurant. Nice atmosphere, with the possibility of something fun and crazy. Anything to spark a connection if there is one.
