There is a man for every woman out there, and there is a woman for every man out there. I always liked to think God intended one man to be with one woman, and he will give us the chance to meet that person at some point in our lives. I'm not some kind of religious fanatic, but I do believe God has a plan for every one of us. Everybody always says that they know exactly what they want in life. That's kinda wild, considering all of the failed relationships out there that everyone swore they had found exactly what they were looking for. Me, I do know what I'm looking for, but it isn't exact, and I'm patiently awaiting the point in my life where I find what I've been looking for for the last 3 years. I say 3 years because when I was 20 and 21, and even younger than that I had no idea what I wanted in a relationship. All I knew was the Marine Corps. I was happy where I was, I had a lot of great friends and a fantastic family. My second tour in Afghanistan changed all of that for me. After getting to know Marines with families, and seeing their families happy and content in life, I decided to turn away from the party scene. In my time in the Marines I had a lot of fun, made a lot of friends, had some relationships come and go, and most importantly, I grew up into the man I knew I wanted to be. The most important man in my life, my grandfather, showed me how to be a man and to be a contender in this world. The Marines just magnified everything I was taught growing up.

Ok, that could become a very deep conversation one day. I am intellectual, but I'm honestly one of the most laid back and relaxed people you could ever come in contact with. I grew up just south of Philadelphia in Wilmington, DE. I moved to Gainesville, GA about 10 years ago. In high school I played football, tennis, and played basketball outside of school. I didn't go to parties and make an ass out of myself. The parties took place after high school. Yes, I did discover a lot about myself in the Marines, but I also had the best time of my life. I had every experience imaginable at a young age. All of the sneaking alcohol and mixing it with Gatorade was the highlight of our nights, along with playing cards.

The Marines was the best experience of my life, but I decided that it wasn't necessarily the life I wanted. I learned that what I really wanted was to meet somebody that I would absolutely fall in love with and build a life with her. I've been through all of the loops and turns that life and relationships have to offer. First and foremost, what I want is someone who loves to have a good time, no matter where they are. I love sports, movies, parties, going to clubs occasionally, being with family and friends, and trying new experiences.

Eventhough the first part of my self-description was "informative" and maybe sounds like I'm the type of person who is always so serious and all that good stuff. Actually, even though I truly believe everything I've said, I like for people to know that I have an intellectual side. Most of the time I'm the laid back guy who likes to do everything that people my age likes to do. I can be extremely sarcastic at times, but I think that people with a sarcastic sense of humor have more self confidence and think of humor and being witty on an intelligent level. I love to make people laugh. I love to laugh and smile. If you can dish out sarcasm and take it every now and then, and like to be a genuinely happy person, you gained 10 points with me.

What I really want in a woman, besides someone who wants to be happy and wants to be in a healthy relationship with potential to grow into something much more, is someone I can relate to and someone who can relate to me. I want to be with someone who wants me to hang out with her and her friends, and wants to hang out with my friends. I'm very family oriented, so I want a woman who feels her family is of the utmost importance, along with friends and her religious beliefs. I want to meet mom and dad, and I want to bring her home to meet my mom and my grandma. The story of my dad will come as you get to know me! I have a few best friends. One of which is my brother, who is my best friend til the day I die. He and I are only a year and a half apart, with me being the oldest. He married about 8 months ago. His opinion means the world to me. I don't care what my mom thinks, and I don't care what my grandma thinks. That may sound to the contrary of what most people believe, but my brother knows me better than anyone. His wife sought my approval, as did my brother. My brother and I are too much alike. We're both a couple of smartasses, we know how to have a good time, we know how to hold our liquor, or beer (well, maybe not the liquor part), and we are the ones who have always taken it upon ourselves to take care of everyone before ourselves.

I'm looking for the ultimate relationship. I've been on too many dates with women I met in a bar, and I've been in too many dead-end relationships. I want someone who wants to finally meet the man of her dreams. Am I it? Maybe. I want the good life. A family house that me and my future wife pick out of a catalog as it's being built, kids, and the family dogs. My idea of the perfect life may seem simple to most, but I don't like to complicate things. I like things to flow smoothly. I've always been able to maintain control, so if things get complicated, I can find ways to work them out. I think relationships are 50/50. I think issues should be worked out together, and decisions should be made together. At this point in my life, I'm in a great career, which I will one day retire from. I have a good head on my shoulders. I'm mature for my age, but I still like to act like a kid at times. Why the hell not? You only get one life. I own a home, a nice car (truck), and I have wonderful friends and a great family. The only thing I lack is the woman I want to share everything with. If you want to get to know me, buckle up. You're in for a ride. Literally... I'm a cop. I drive fast, so buckle up! Seriously though. I'm here because I don't want some random girl I meet at a bar. I want someone who is at the point in her life where she wants what I want. I'm not looking to get married right now, but I would like to in the next 2-3 years. Honestly, if you were able to stay awake through all of what I just put you through, I'll give you a break here. Really, I like to do just about anything. I like to talk about likes and dislikes one-on-one before I try to set up a date. I always try to make the first one memorable, but I can't say my idea of the perfect first date is the same as yours.
