I'm bright, educated, professional; intellectually curious and well read; fiercely loyal and honest, kind, and pretty creative for a math/analytical kinda guy. I like romance, I like dating - you know, a real date? Flowers, picnic, handholding, the slight but constant electric buzz of romantic tension. I LOVE kissing....

Though experience and necessity have made me pretty much fearless, I tend to be reserved. This shouldn't be confused with shyness - there's a difference.

I've been working on my fitness since the spring, and a new confidence in my body is inspiring me to get out and be active. I especially like things on, under, or on top of the water. I'm certainly not at my goal, but I may be the first person in history to quit smoking AND lose weight at the same time.

I'd like to meet a friend, confidant, and lover for now, preferably a woman with whom there is potential for a LTR.

It would be cool if she turned out to ultimately be the caretaker of my heart. The One Elliott spoke of when he wrote, "Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away."

I have no specific ideal woman, but historically I've been most attracted to very smart, confident, thoughtful, adventurous, and expressive. And a woman is what I'm looking for, curvy... not a waif.

Of course honesty is very important, but kindness, compassion, empathy are equally important. Mean girls suck, and I'm not talking about being mean to me; being mean to those whose circumstances preclude them from defending themselves, even if it's a comment you make with a smirk when you get home, is a major character weakness.

You should own at least one bookshelf (occupied by books), and most of your books aren't available at Wal*Mart. You should enjoy kissing. A lot. Kissing isn't always a prelude; remember being 16 and kissing for kissing's sake?

While I'm on the subject, I don't wish to seem indecorous, but physical expression of affection is very important to building a relationship and even more important to an established relationship. So long as you're somewhat adventurous, communicative, and (very?) enthusiastic then we should get along here.

I recognize that some of these qualities are a bit abstract, yet I also recognize them when a woman has them, and it's rare.
