I am seeking to meet women that are not looking solely to be in a relationship for the sake of having one. That is what I got the last time and it ended up very poorly. Just be friendly, patient and positive. Over time, the sparks will re-kindle and you will be looking at a romantic inferno that will burn a bright flame for the rest of our lives.

My perfect match would be intelligent, confident (there is nothing more attractive to me than a woman who does not ask me how she looks - she just knows and shows she is attractive!) and sensual. Please understand my situation; that I am going to be patient about a commitment and that I have some limitations for now. But if your idea of a nice date is a home-cooked gourmet meal, accompanied by intelligent conversation, then I am worth getting to know!

I am originally from New York, went to college in Upstate NY, lived in Manhattan for 8 years, then England for 18 months, before finally settling down in Boca Raton since 1993.

If you are not a sports fan at all we are not likely to make a good match. That doesn't mean I am a one-trick pony. I do enjoy other interests, such as going to the beach, plays, an outdoor movie at Mizner, complete with chairs and food, and a number of other intellectual and cultural endeavors. But if my beloved New York Islanders are on TV, expect me to try to catch it! Other sports I enjoy include Golf, Volleyball, Lacrosse and Football. I also have a lifelong appreciation of watching Figure Skating.

As for the beach, I can't imagine a better way to relax: a chair, umbrella, a good book, plenty of liquids and food . . . and the company of a woman that also likes to relax there; then maybe pick up some shellfish on the way home. A day of that is enough to energize me for the coming work week.

I was born and raised Jewish, but am not overly practicing at this point. I do celebrate the big holidays and some rituals but not to the point where you have to be Jewish, or even believe in God if you don't.

If you are not the type of woman who likes to be treated affectionately in public you will not like spending time with me. Is there any other way to show my lady how important they are to me than to let anyone see it?

Another aspect that you will have to understand about me is that I read voraciously, usually having a couple of books going simultaneously. History, Finance and Economics, Politics (P.J. O'Rourke rules!) and Clancy-style fiction are all on my list. I believe very strongly in setting an example for my son to find learning exciting, not a chore (sooner or later he'll get the point! -LOL).

If you haven't been scared off too much yet, then one last item: I do want to get back into playing some golf, which I used to be quite good at; so if you want to learn I can teach you. An added bonus for you - I can actually do tax returns! I may not be the handiest person around the house, but I do like to keep a clean house, am actually self-sufficient in doing laundry, can cook up a storm - guess I am very much the typical Virgo.

After thinking further, the coffee date is out; to be replaced by the early evening picnic on the beach. That way, we can totally concentrate on each other and if the date goes well, a hand in hand stroll along the water!
