I am ok with most activities, uh, maybe not roller coasters, or sky diving. I range in my activities. Live concerts, movies, theatre. Now and then I like St Louis Symphony (like orchestrations in which the composer returns to a melody now and then, you know, like Rachmaninoff’s Pagannini Rhapsody, Ravel’s Bolero, etc;). I have been to one POF sponsored meetup at a sports bar. Ok, a lot of get out there and press the flesh, but too noisy to carry on a decent conversation.

I have great children and grandchildren that I usually see once a month.

Here is my seat of the pants philosophy on good relationships. A truck driver called in the Delilah show one night to say he wanted to send a message to his lady. He told Delilah that their relationship was one in which he just could not wait to park his 18-wheeler and get back home with the lady. You could sense the anticipation in his voice and my take was that it was not just about physical appearances. Well we all know relationships like that can't be 24 x 7 x 365. But it was the spirit of his voice that made me feel there was a basic chemistry and attraction there, that keeps their relationship solid. An attraction that allows you to put up with her annoyances as she is yours. Maybe that is more down to earth. Am I off base here?

Same sense of humor is important as in: she gets your sense of humor in a turn of phrase or funny circumstance you share with her and visa versa. Otherwise, one partner will get turned off and not volunteer the humor he/she sees. That breaks the relationship.
