My immediate goal is a partner for ballroom, Latin and swing dances lessons with in Evanston, starting mid-late January, and maybe to practice a bit too. They are given by the BLAST dance club at Northwestern University, about 9 weeks with 3 hours of teaching per week plus more available practice time, all for $60 per person. Classes will probably be 6-8 PM Tuesday and 6-7 or 7-8 PM Mondays.

You can be new or have some experience, any race, almost any body type or preference, even married might be OK. I just want somebody closer to my age than the college students to dance with. Contact me for additional information, especially if you are young an just want to go on your own, not as my partner.

My long term goal is to find someone to dance with, as well as some other activities, cultural and/or outdoor.

It would be nice to form a relationship, but to call it a goal would imply I expect to get there. I am a very unusual and diverse person, so may not find a woman to achieve that.

I am a child of the 60s, and I seek openness, honesty, and equality.

For a dance partner: In the last year I started ballroom dancing, so I can still enjoy dancing with a complete novice, and can appreciate a woman with some experience. And I do many other kinds of dancing you might like to try, various kinds of folk dancing and also square/round dancing.

For an activity friend: I like unusual foods, such as Ethiopian, unusual sushi and Vietnamese, to dine out or cook at home. My favorite music is classical, folk, jazz, and (for dancing) almost anything before 1960 or so. I even like opera, though pretty much only as a complete package, not so much to just listen to on the radio. I like museums and anything outdoors that is active but relaxed. By traditional measures, I am intelligent and educated, although there are many measures of intelligence and education beyond the conventional ones. In any event, it is nice to be able to have a varied and stimulating conversation.

If the opportunity for an LTR should arise: I wish to grow by being challenged with new experiences. I am not seeking a perfect match, but seek basic compatibility and then growing and developing together. I strive for caring, sharing and working together, which is part of why I like dancing; dancers cooperate rather than compete.

Light refreshment (for me, no alcohol) and/or at some public activity we'd both enjoy anyway, such as a museum, dance or a flea market.
