Well, I've got a good but slightly warped sense of humour (big fan of Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Monty Python), love the absurd yet intellectual nature of these. I'm fairly layed back most of the time yet do have the capacity to party on the odd occassion. Love to kid about but when required to be serious, I'm right there with bells on. Can cook very well and in styles from around the world too. I'm adventurous, not afraid to take the occassional risk (have been swimming/diving with wild sharks before) and will try anything once [diet in Vietnam is a good example of that (cobra, pidgeon, frog, sea cucumber just for starters)].
I have a full time night shift job (from 6 pm to 5 am Monday to Friday) in the steel industry (storeman/picker) which keeps me on my toes.
I love fishing and my football (although I don't play anymore) and I support Hawthorn in the AFL (ever since I was 2). Was a former member and Cheer Squad member (no, not cheerleader) but have since parted ways with the club and now support my team from the couch.
Musical taste is wide and varied, like different songs for different reasons. Another brick in the wall (Pink Floyd) for the memories of a mate passed on, America's Horse with no name, American Pie (Don McLean), Black Fingernails, Red Wine (Eskimo Joe), Cher's Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, Somebody told me (The Killers), Take me out (Franz Ferdinand) and pretty much anything put out by 'Weird' Al Yankovic (the bloke that made the parody song "Fat" from Micheal Jackson's "Bad").
I'm a dog lover (not particularly fond of cats due to a poor experience) and am hoping to get a puppy of my own (An Australian or English Bulldog). Big animal fan (have had what my friends described as a zoo living with me in the past) and someone who is an animal person would be great.
Also love the outdoors, getting away from everything and camping out. Love to get out and go to the more remote isolated spots of Australia for a few days. Travelled to Vietnam (October 2007) as my first international experience and had a great time. Got plans to head around the world including Germany for the Oktoberfest in 2009 (taking my best mate on his first international trip) and would love to get to some of the more overlooked areas of the world like the Congo and the Galapagos Islands. Turned off by the places that pander to tourists, natural beauty is so much better than an artifically created enviroment.
My ideal partner would be somewhat spontanous, cheeky, passionate and a little outgoing. Preferably a non smoker or very occassional smoker. Someone who'd be more likely to enjoy a night in with a nice meal and a DVD or 2 than out at the clubs getting alcoholically imbalanced. Somebody who's just as happy to stay home as chuck their gear in a bag and take off interstate for a few days. Someone who has a cheeky look in the eye like they have a naughty secret is a winner with me and unique features/personality quirks are very attractive as well. Pretty much looking at dating for starters with a view to a long term relationship.
Feel free to message me, I don't bite (much anyway.... ;)
First Date
Could be coffee and a chat or a dinner at a nice resturant overlooking the bay with a bottle of fine red wine followed by a walk on the beach at sunset. All depends on the age, personality and interests of the special lady in question.
