WHY MONOGAMY?

Yeah, that's right, I've hijacked my own profile for use as a discussion board. You can call me Rebel Jay. But what better place to ask such a question?

Now, this may seem rhetorical coming from someone listing polyamory as an interest, but I'm truly curious. I believe in different strokes for different folks, as raunchy as that may sound in this context.

My attachments to monogamy weathered after living my life for a while and seeing how it didn't agree with me, but I've noticed that many others value monogamy for completely different reasons. As with all good philosophy it breaks down to one's definition of a word, in this case "monogamy", which I'd like to get some more definitions of.

So if you're not too busy sifting through topless photos, car photos, and bathroom mirror photos, then riddle me this: What do you value in monogamy, and what does that say about your personality?
