I absolutely, without a doubt, LOVE to travel. I lived in The Netherlands for a year, where I worked as an au pair. I was able to see much of western Europe during my time there (Paris is my favorite city with Rome a close second). I've been back a few times since then, but would love to live there again. I recently went to Thailand for the first time and spent most of my time Scuba diving and meeting other travelers. Did a jungle safari on Koh Samui where I went elephant trekking, held a monkey, and went waterfall diving. I just booked a dive trip to Fiji for this Thanksgiving holiday and I'm thinking about a Thailand/India/Vietnam trip in the early part of 2009. (ed. note: No I haven't won the lottery and I'm not necessarily independently wealthy. Travel is my passion, so I make it work. Even if that means staying in hostels and dining at street stalls/vendors).
I'm into extreme sports/hobbies and have been sky diving, bungie jumping, indoor rock climbing (haven't had the chance to try the real thing yet), surfing, gliding (you know, like Thomas Crown Affair), skiing, scuba diving and lots of other things. I'll try anything once and am always game for something new. I am also happy with less extreme activities such as biking, in-line skating, golfing (miniature or 18-hole), going to sports events (go Steelers!), or hiking the canyon. Please don't get me wrong though...I have 487 movies in my Netflix queue and don't have a problem lounging around either.
I'm looking for someone who is adventurous, spontaneous, open-minded, and enjoys being social, but knows when an evening on the couch with a movie is appropriate. I would like to find someone who shares my passion for travel and experiencing different cultures.
I'm a "girl-next-door" type, I can be girly when appropriate, but usually like to hang out in jeans, t-shirt, and flip-flops. I prefer dive bars to clubs, but love a great night out dancing every once in awhile.
I'm a very positive person and one will usually find me grinning from ear to ear. I love to laugh and I laugh at everything...even at myself when I've managed to do something silly, which is a lot.
One last, very important, item: I'm a dog person.
