I think a good first date is something not real formal that allows you to talk to the other person to find out about their personlity: meeting for coffee, window shopping at a mall, or walking through a park/zoo. The ideal 2nd date would be dinner at a sushi restaurant followed by a movie, concert, or show at the Fox/Muny.
