I am the sum of all of the experiences that I've had over the 27 years of my life on this earth. Which is to say I'm a fairly complicated person, but I certainly don't feel that way most days. I'm rather content to go to work, come home, walk my puppy, hit the gym, cook a meal, and find something to lose myself in for the few hours I get before it's time to go to bed and do it all over again. From time to time though, I do get a glimmer in my eye about something that I want to experience. Something that, were it to happen, would be a very dear experience to me. Unfortunately, as fulfilling as it is to experience something new and awe inspiring at times, it is far more gratifying to have someone share in that experience. Someone who's horizon you want to expand, and someone you know wants to expand yours. I suppose, in a nutshell, that is what I'm looking for.

There are aesthetic qualities that appeal to me more than others, of course. I've not known one person that has had a relationship blossom without a passionate attraction that sparked sometime early on, present company included, nor would I want it any other way. What makes it stick is the depth of that attraction. The most gorgeous eyes in the world won't keep me rapt without the sparkle of wit and humor in them. The most shapely and perfectly colored pair of lips I've ever seen won't keep me engaged without something compelling to spill from them. I need someone that I can talk to about simple things or discuss at length complex philosophies. Someone that shows an understanding of concept, even if they aren't well versed in the subject.

Whether it's film, prose, or music, art and the appreciation of it is something that is very important to me. Again, I'm not looking for someone that could teach an Art History class without a text book, just someone that isn't flippant when it comes to the topic and enjoys viewing something from perhaps an angle they've never considered before. I'm certainly no snob about my interest in philosophical and artistic expression. Remember, these things are always very subjective.

I love to cook. Trying new recipes for the first time (whether or not disaster strikes) or just refining my favorite ones. It is something that makes me happy. I enjoy sports, although football has to be my favorite to watch and play. Growing up in Tennessee certainly made me receptive to the very tangible love of the game most people there have. I read when I can (which hasn't been that often over the last few years), but I find it a good thing to at least read a chapter or two before bed.

I have an Italian Greyhound named Iko that I adore. He's such a mischievous little rat at times, but he loves me unquestionably and relies on me for food, protection and affection. He's a little over a year old now.

I do have two tattoos and may plan on getting more, but what I have in mind is expensive and not being budgeted for at this time. No piercings here, although I've had my experience with a few in the past and feel they were more trouble than they were worth.

I'm probably one of the most honest men you'll ever meet (should you choose to) and expect honesty in return. I'm faithful and rather affectionate within the context of a serious relationship, but very respectful of boundaries until that bridge has been crossed. I tend to like aggressive women, but it's not a requirement.

Chances are that if I'm shown to have viewed your profile, I'm interested in both what you've had to say and how you appear physically as much as one can tell from a picture. You can only take so many stabs in the dark with well thought out and personalized messages getting read and deleted before becoming weary of that method. If I've viewed your profile and you're interested, give me an e-wink of some sort. I will most certainly take the initiative and run with it.

A first date should probably be a very simple thing. You want to have time to get a feel for the kind of person you are basically interviewing for the possibility of a casual, serious, or seriously long term relationship. So, depending on the comfort level involved, an ideal first date would consist of drinks or coffee and conversation, evolving into a walk. As romantic as a moonlit stroll somewhere might be, I doubt a fair number of women would want to be in a situation like that with someone they don't entirely know or trust yet. A mall can be just as nice of a locale to walk around in and converse and a far more public one.

I've always been fine with doing a basic dinner and movie date as well, it just allows for a bit less interaction between and should honestly be left for a cozier more familiar date outside of the first.
