Please note...I accidentally hit the wrong key on my birthday, my birth year is 1949, not 1959. My current age is 59.

To critique myself, I am a friendly, loving, considerate, honest, loyal, respectful, tender and funny man. I am also a gentleman. I am 59 years old, however some say I look far younger. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 170 lbs.. I have a well groomed beard and glasses. I am partially bald, like most men my age. I like to fish, hunt and play golf, but I would not be considered a fanatic. My number one concern with starting over again is my son. I am extremely proud to say that I have a handsome, healthy, smart and mischievous six (6) year old son. He is the "apple of my eye" and I will do everything in my power to ensure he is loved and well cared for. However, I am not looking for someone to assume the responsibility of parenthood. That is MY responsibility and the responsibility of my former wife.

I feel that I have a lot to offer any woman. I am reasonably attractive, I'm physically & mentally healthy, have a good job, personal investments and I own my home. I live in west Shreveport, LA on the south side of Cross Lake and I have recently landscaped my two (2) acres and built a pier. I spend a lot of time enjoying the water and my view and hope to share it with someone special.

I am very desirous of a committed mature relationship which has good communication, conflict resolution, romance and passion. I am looking for a faithful woman who has / had a good relationship with her parents and who has a good core group of friends. I ask this because I feel it is a good judge of that persons personality and social adjustment. I am looking for a lady with "substance", integrity, dignity and class. In addition, I would like someone who loves to laugh and has a good sense of humor, is kind, gentle, tolerant, affectionate, romantic, funny, empathetic, stimulating, sincere, intelligent, is active, takes good care of herself and is physically fit. I'm not looking for perfection, but I am looking for a unique individual, who is a cut above the rest.

I ask for these qualities and I pledge the same. Lastly, I would like a slowly developing relationship that evolves into friendship first, before romance and love. In short, I am looking for my kindred spirit. Wistful? I hope not!

Let me also tell what I’m not. I’m not flashy; I’m not loud and boisterous; when I walk into a crowded room its doubtful that people’s heads will turn, but when I leave everyone that I have met will probably (hopefully) have a positive impression; I don’t gossip and would rather not hear it, regardless of whom it’s about; I don’t cheat and don’t want to be around people who do; I’m not a bragger unless it’s about my son or family; I’m not one the worlds physically beautiful people, my particular form of beauty comes from within and hopefully is appreciated the longer you know me; I’m not conceited because I have absolutely nothing to be conceited about; I’m not aggressive, I’d be dead last in the “stalker” list.

I am as dependable as a sunrise and a sunset; I’m even tempered; I’m dependable; I’m trustworthy; I’m empathetic & sympathetic; I can keep a secret; I hope I’m thought of as intelligent without being an egghead; I always try to do what is best, even if what is best is not self-serving; I’m loyal; and I’m not perfect and I am not searching for someone who is; I’m loyal; ethics is more than just another word; I listen; I’m not afraid to ask directions; I don’t compare myself to others.

I'm going to separate our initial meeting from our first date. I think our first physical meeting should be in a busy crowded business such as a restaurant (ladies choice) at lunch. Lunch has a defined beginning and ending, usually close to an hour. Both of us can then evaluate the other in person!

Our frist date should be over a nice meal in a quite out-of-the-way venue, so that we can get to know the other.
