About Me
About me. I was born with an insatiable curiosity about everything and love the learning process. That can be a blessing or a curse, depending...I'm a little on the shy side until I get to know you. Doesn't take long though. I'm very direct and to the point but seeing the humor in it all the way along with the general absurdity of life. But that's another story. What am I looking for here? Nothing. Nothing at all. So if something finds me, hey, that could be a wonderful thing.

I love to build things (specially work with wood). I can fix damn near anything. I get a kick out of seeing how things work. Tools are my friends. I love building furniture (end/coffee tables, etc.). I love fixing things. I've only called a plumber once because I didn't have a snake. Science truly intrigues me. I love thinking way outside the box, about possibilities far beyond science.

Digital photography is a lot of fun and I enjoy the digital enhancements I can do with computer enhanced graphics. I've recently gotten into HD video. A lot to learn but a lot of fun.

Once, when I was a kid, my mother had two or three antique pocket watches. I had some of those tiny miniature screwdrivers so, naturally, I took them apart to see how they worked. Needless to say, that wasn't terribly well received when I realized it was a lot tougher to put them back together LOL..my father was really pissed.

Deep down I'm a hopeless romantic who can cuddle for hours. I'm a very visual and tactile person and love touching.

I'd like to find someone with a great sense of humor (i.e. a critical thinker with many interests and someone who's open to lots of possibilities). I'm very laid back and easy to get along with. I'm a really good listener and what people say and how they say it is important to me. I really do pay attention. I'm a musician who practices law. Go figure.

Music is simply in my blood. I didn't put it there. Honest. It just is. I started playing piano by ear when I was 5 when my aunt took me to see the Al Jolson story. When I got home, I started playing one of the songs I'd heard with one finger. That eventually let to two, then three, and then all ten got involved. I took my first (and last) piano lesson when I was 6. Good story there but I'll save that for later.

I've done a lot of different things in my life. I've worked as a civil engineer, a flight instructor, a professional musician and a lawyer. Talk about eclectic. I immerse myself in hobbies (admitted computer geek, digital photography and related software), and everything else I can get my hands on.

So, someone who appreciates Blues, R'nB, Funk, Soul, Pop, Classic Rock, Fusion would sure be a plus. Can I serenade you on the piano?

Sense of humor is critical. If you can't laugh at life and all it's subtle (and some not so subtle) craziness, we probably wouldn't get along.

I guess I'm best characterized as a jack of all trades and master of none (although I am pretty good at some stuff).

SMOKING: I've edited my profile because I need to make myself very clear on this one. I am a smoker. I've been a smoker for a long time. But, I'm healthy as a horse (I have to chalk it up to good genes). I've seen a doctor for treatment twice in my life. Once when I was 32, I caught (and don't laugh dammit) chicken pox. I have no clue how. I'm not around groups of children (with the exception of relatives). Who knows. That was pretty awful (oh god the itch and the thoughts of scratching were mentally orgasmic).

My body looked just like a cheese pizza. The first time was when I was 13 - delivering newspapers in the rain. I fell off my bike and fractured my tibia. That's it. So it hasn't slowed me down even a little. Tennis anyone? For my age (or for any age) I'm in pretty damned good shape. It's been my gift and I cherish it to the extent of doing whatever is needed to maintain that status quo.

BUT, and here's the big "but". If that special lady came on my radar and I on hers, and if smoking was a deal-breaker for her, and if there was real chemistry for a serious relationship, for her, for us, I would quit in a New York minute. I've never tried before but I would quit. Period.

So, in case "she" is out there (and I think the odds of that are about the same as getting hit on the head by a falling comet LOL) and interested, put it to the test and say hi. We might both be very pleasantly surprised. Hey. 'Ya just never know.

First Date
Let's just meet. Look. Listen. Sniff each other's spirituality and see if it resonates at some level, and who knows, dinner and drinks quickly follow :)

I really appreciate bright (street savvy), assertive women who can say what they mean and mean what they say and are funny. Life is just so much easier that way. Without honest communication we got nuttin'. She must feel a sense of reverence for the elderly, children and animals - all those who can't help themselves. Love of the Blues, chocolate and dogs (not necessarily in that order) is a huge plus.

As far as looks go, if you were to ask me exactly what "she" would look like, I'd have to answer the same way as that Supreme Court justice who, when asked to define pornography said "I can't define it, but I'll know it when I see it". Maybe you will too. You never know. Hey. Stranger things have happened.

I consider it an honour and a privilege to be able to call this wonderful man my very dear friend. In his quiet but direct way, he is the velvet hand in the steel glove that is just as capable of wiping away tears as boxing a few well-deserved ears. My life is always better when I have touched keyboards with him... If you are lucky enough to spend some time with him, you will come away knowing what integrity looks and sounds like when it's encased in a person. What a guy! Whew!!!
