Looking for a lady who is able to love, respect, and be true to herself first. I believe that must come before she, or anyone, can love another. She would also have self confidence and a love for life. She’d enjoy outdoor activities and all this beautiful state has to offer. She’d smile more often than frown and would feel comfortable in expressing her needs. This lovely lady would be somewhere between 40-something and 55 – give or take.

I’m a fit 53-year old, retired man with little baggage. I bought a new house last March and have spent the past year settling in - though it still does have the distinct feel of a bachelor. I’m 6 ft. 3 in. tall and 190 lbs and workout nearly every day. I’m told my eyes and smile are my best features. I'm a non-smoker and light drinker. I have no contageous diseases or addictions. I like reading and writing and some movies.

I especially like movies with what I call the “passing the torch” theme. This is where one character is far better off after being influenced by another character. There is a classic movie titled Harold and Maude that has this theme - it's one of my favorites. There was also a very touching line from a contemporary movie that illustrates the same. That line was, “He saved me in every way one person can save another.” That line was “old Rose” describing her short but passionate time with Jack from Titanic.

So, if you understand and try to live by the Golden Rule… And if you also know that whatever you do, good or otherwise, you do to yourself… And if you’re truly available for romantic adventure, respond with something about yourself and we can go from there. All the best.

Our first date would come after one or more phone conversations where we've gotten a good feel for each other and are both aware of mutual likes and dislikes. I see us sitting in a quiet restaurant looking into each others' eyes. We're so caught up in the moment the waiter has to come back several times before we're ready to order.

We communicate like we've known each other forever and are each enthralled with the other. After only light picking at our food, we leave the restaurant and take a long stroll on the beach - holding hands and talking about the future. Not necessarily our future, but maybe ours. The date ends with a tender kiss that leaves us both wanting to see the other again, soon!
