Having had a short career in computer programming and a long career in law, I now give most of my time to interests in politics and technology. I enjoy both books and the electronic library called the Internet. Lately I've turned to science fiction and books on the history of and prospects for the Internet. My effort here at POF is a step toward having and enjoying more friends. That will lead to new, invigorating interests. My regular schedule of cardio and strength exercises helps keep me healthy.

About the other religion category: Presently I am not enthusiastic about any organized religion. That arises, in part, from reading Walter Wink's books on the powers and on domination and James Carroll's Constantine's Sword. Lately I've spent some time learning about Wicca, and its difference from pagan religions. Now (September '08) I'm reading Huston Smith's survey of the world's religions, subtitled "a guide to our wisdom traditions."

First meeting, NOT first date: What we can agree on as a way to get acquainted with each other. Lunch some place quiet would be good; a movie or concert might not work.
