I'm just a regular 28 year old guy looking for love, ultimately, but for someone to connect with, first of all. First of all, I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I use a motorized wheelchair, and I need a lot of help with a lot of things. So I live with my parents. I only say that in the interest of honesty, and I realize it may be too much of an inconvenience. If it is, I understand, you may stop reading and move on. If you are still reading, good.

I like to think that I have a personality, demeanor, and attitude about life that may make any inconveniences less, um, inconvenient, haha. I am a quiet, smart, friendly, laid-back guy. I have a sense of humor that can take many forms, but no matter what, I try to keep that sense of humor. Sometimes goofy, sometimes witty, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes lighthearted, sometimes obscure. Humor is maybe the best coping mechanism for many of life’s problems. Other than, that, I'm a pretty simple, t-shirt and jeans type of guy. I am accepting of others and not judgmental, I don't play games with people. I take people at their word because I am honest myself. Maybe its naïve, but I believe its how people should be. I have a normal conservative outward appearance, but underneath it I’m a pretty liberal thinker. I am very much my own person.

I love music, all kinds, as long as its not obnoxious. But, for the most part I’m pretty adaptable and receptive to good and varied music. If I could, I’d play guitar. Other than music, I love sports, especially hockey (Buffalo Sabres) and football (Buffalo Bills). Well, WATCHING sports, for obvious reasons. I also watch baseball, particularly the New York Yankees, but I’m not as rabid about baseball as hockey and football. If I could play hockey, I would. Something sporty that I have recently become involved with, however, is playing power wheelchair soccer. Its not really competitive, but its fun, and besides, they didn’t have wheelchair hockey. On an average day I enjoy just hanging out, listening to my large and varied music collection, chatting online, browsing the internet, watching a little TV, doing some crosswords, watchin' the birds outside. When its nice enough outside I like to enjoy some outdoor time on the deck. I always enjoy spending time with friends, whether its going out to the movies or wherever, or just hangin' out. I generally enjoy many of the simpler things in life.

I don’t get out and about as much as I can or would like, so there are plenty of other things I would enjoy but I didn’t list them as things I do. As long as I can participate, I’m open. Things I can name off the top of my head that I’d also enjoy would be getting coffee, taking walks (or rides in my case) or jogs or slower runs, for that matter (my chair can go a little faster than walking speed), um...well, who knows, but like I said, I’m open, as long as I can get there. What’s most important is who I’m with. Staying in, watching movies and cuddling/snuggling would be as good or better than going out to see them. Yes I use a wheelchair but there are ways around that, as far as getting close. About going out, we do have an accessible van that my friends have driven before. Just be a responsible driver.

What I’d most want in a woman (not in any particular order):
- Honesty – This should be obvious as necessary to a relationship, but it seems to be absent far too often. It appears that most people on here at least say they are honest.
- Patience/Understanding – If you aren’t, you probably aren’t interested anyway.
- Open-Mindedness – I cannot get along with anyone who is narrow minded
- Sense Of Humor – Have a sense of humor or at least appreciate it. Unless you’re a stone, most people can laugh at something.
- This is just an add-on, not a dealbreaker, but if you enjoy music and/or hockey and/or football, that would be icing on the cake. If we can watch hockey one moment, and the next you can enjoy a poem I write for you, you are Ms. Right!

I'm actually really not sure of exactly what else I am looking for in a woman. I think that if you take the time to look through my profile and are interested in getting to know me, that's a good start, and you're very likely the type of person I'm looking for. Its not so much what "ideal woman" I might have in mind. I could easily type that in. I don't think it is a lowering of standards. The only standard should be whether two people love each other and get along. Who am I to pre-determine what kind of woman would love me? I’ll let you decide.

As I said before, I am honest and open. If you’re looking for no games and no undue drama, you won’t get any less than with me. Yes, my life is maybe a little complicated by my disability. But as far as silly emotional and mental drama caused by stupid games, I will not cause any. I feel like this is almost too obvious to say, but I’d be faithful. I’ve looked for love for too long than to abuse it. I’m a sensitive guy, I want to be there for my partner to be completely open with. If something is wrong, I want to know. If I’ve done something wrong, and don’t realize it myself, let me know. I’d be affectionate and attentive. I want someone to love and be loved by; to share love. I want that someone that I think about all the time. Someone I can write poetry for. Writing them is only painful when there is no one to write them to. Someone that I trust and who trusts me. I am looking for my chance at love. I would be all of these things that I've mentioned. I don’t see any of these traits as outstanding, however, because I believe they are what a guy should be toward the woman he loves.
