I'm an easy-going, down to earth, professional guy who enjoys being active outdoors (biking, hiking, tennis, going to a picnic or the beach), although raising my children and remodeling my house has recently become more of a priority. I also enjoy going to movies (including foreign and 'indy' films), and watching DVDs with popcorn on the couch. Although I'm at a desk all day, I like working with my hands and fixing things around the house. I can take apart anything and (in most cases) put it back together again - with only a FEW pieces left over. Thats OK though, as most things have some optional/extra parts. LOL
I enjoy going to my family cabin for a relaxing summer weekend. We built it when I was young and during the day we'd go swimming by the (FREEZING!) waterfall and in the evenings we'd make s'mores and use the 'ginch' machine by the campfire. With warm weather approaching, I'm really looking forward to getting outside and visiting it again. I also can't wait to get out on my motorcycle and explore the hills and valley and little towns in between. I like being playful with someone who doesn't always insist on following all the rules.
I share drama-free custody of my young children and seeing the world through their eyes is a remarkable experience. My kids mean the world to me - they are the best part of my life, as any parent knows.
I'm looking for a woman who has some common interests; someone with whom I can have an intelligent conversation, a spirited debate and then put it all behind them when its time to have dinner (together! LOL). She must know how to have fun and not take life too seriously. I'd like someone who can laugh at movies, witty remarks and herself at times... and yes, even me! Being active is great, but some down time is important too, so I'd like someone who can sleep in on a rainy morning and appreciate a hammock on a lazy Sunday afternoon. And finally, I'm looking to spend time with a woman who is open-minded with a bit of an adventurous spirit, who wants to live life instead of just watch it.
A few other tidbits about me - I rode my bicycle from NY to NC (rain and wind are not a cyclists friend)... I took a 12,000 mile road trip with a buddy to see the largest ball of twine in the world (ok, we saw other things on the way too, like big apples statues and an 80ft jolly green giant)... I once ran MYSELF over with a car... (yes, you can laugh, but at least it wasn't a hit-and-run!)
"But these go to eleven" - Nigel Tufnel, lead guitarist of Spinal Tap... Thanks for reading!

Lets see... first date... there isn't much you can do being that its really an interview. Ultra romantic doesn't work - you don't know the person. An all day fun-fest isn't good because after an hour maybe one party has had enough. How about lunch at an outdoor cafe? Or meeting for coffee or an ice cream? Or a walk through a county fair? That might be fun, but I prefer not to wait until August for a date!
Of course dinner works too. Anything where you can talk, laugh and just be yourself. If the chemistry works out, then the second date will be a lot more interesting.
