Hello and welcome to my profile! Clearly I have a fair bit of info. here, and no, there won't be a quiz! LOL But hey, take a quick skim and see if we have some things in common...I should add that I remove myself from people's 'favourites' lists if I'm not interested in hearing from them, so if I'm on yours for any amount of time, there's a good chance I'd be happy to hear from you :)
So, I'm looking for an amazing physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual connection with someone who is similar in lifestyle and interests, humourous with a positive attitude, intelligent, family minded and living in my local vicinity (beautiful downtown Vancouver). I only ask for what I can offer.
You: In your 30's or early 40's, don't have a lot of baggage, up for a lifetime of love, laughs, and loyalty, and can see starting a family in the next few years. All that being said, I'm not the type to rush into a relationship too quickly and definitely appreciate a guy who takes the time to woo me properly. I guess you could say I'm a little old-fashioned that way. Also, I prefer clean cut guys without an excessive number of tattoos, piercings, or strange facial hair. Motorbikes are cool, but biker guys just don't do it for me.
Me: Friends and family describe me as intelligent, well rounded, independent, caring, have good taste, pretty, funny (and pretty funny ha ha).
Things I like to do: ski in the winter, outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and camping, but also appreciate the arts, 5 star hotels and international travel, and the many great things to do in this beautiful city of ours. I suppose I have a unique perspective and perhaps a broader range of interests than most, from all that I've experienced in life so far (everything from a summer of French immersion in Quebec City to skydiving, rockclimbing, and a winter of working/skiing in the Canadian Rockies). Hopefully you have some memorable life experiences to bring to the table as well.
I'm fun and adventurous but have a good head on my shoulders and live a fairly healthy lifestyle. I'm not into drugs, don't smoke, and have traded in the club scene for fine dining, lounges with a great vibe, and special events/parties. I enjoy time at home, whether it's snuggling up to watch movies or entertaining friends, but would like to be with someone who likes to get out and socialize together as well. I tend to get bored if we don't mix it up a bit!
In terms of relationships, I'm the kind of woman who is a good listener and pays attention to what's important to the man in her life, and I simply want the same in return. Respect and consideration are two ingredients necessary for a healthy relationship. I'm known to be loyal and generous and love surprises and thoughtful gestures. I tend to get more joy out giving, but won't shy away from being pampered either LOL. When I care for someone, I care deeply. Having a strong physical/sexual connection is definitely key - I tend to assume that goes without saying!
I love music and you can usually catch me singing along while I get ready in the morning (although sometimes peace and quiet are preferred!). Some of my faves are U2, Collective Soul, Coldplay, Bob Marley, Sarah McLachlan, Kylie Minogue, Tragically Hip, No Doubt (and Gwen Stefani), 54-40, Madonna, Rihanna, house music that's good to dance to, a bit of Classical and yes, even Country (I grew up in Northern BC, where two-stepping is mandatory haha).
I've recently added a puppy to my household (Remy), so the dog park and walks on the seawall are definitely part of my lifestyle. Recently we went hiking and he loved it, so hiking is in as well. He's a little dog with a big dog attitude, very people friendly, and thankfully, not yappy!
My grandparents were married for almost 70 years, and I have to say that my grandfather set such an amazing example to me of the kind of man I'd like to share my life with - he was always there for his family and could be relied upon, no matter what the situation. He had a great sense of humour, loved kids and animals, and did the sweetest little things for my grandmother up until his dying day. (Please note that the point here is that I admired my Grampa's TRAITS; I'm not interested in dating someone who is old enough to BE my grandfather LOL!)
Favourite place to travel so far: Dominican Republic (3x!)
Books I'm currently reading: Reconciliation by Benazir Bhutto, and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
Languages spoken: English, some French & some Spanish
Lots more, but I'll save it for if we meet.
Happy Fishing to all - may your dreams come true.

PS - I try to respond to all e-mails, however if I don't think we're a good match I may simply just not have time to. Please know in advance that I appreciate the time and effort you took to write me. May we all find our best match!
PPS - I can't say this enough - if you are going to message me and want to increase your chance of a response, PLEASE have at least ONE relatively current picture, and something interesting to say!! 'Hi cutie' gets really boring, really fast!
Something that will allow us to get to know each other better - grabbing a coffee and going for a walk, or hitting up a cool lounge for a drink, is always good for conversation :)
