Have you ever tasted a broccoli sprout?

I am a simple, down to earth Northern girl who loves her family, friends and her dog. I am still a student, but I do work for a living. I am currently getting my BScN (Nursing) with Laurentian University, and I love going to school.

I have been called a hippie, once, and a geek several times in my life. (All in good fun, of course, but I suspect that this is true of me.) For fun, I like to watch movies, read, rescue dogs, eat good food and drink good wine. I have a new interest since joining this site: I find it really facinating to look at all the profiles on here! About me...I really like drinking tea, and I have ten different kinds on hand at any given moment. I always let my toenails grow too long before cutting them, hopefully that doesn't scare anyone off! I do love to garden, and take great satisfaction from watching things grow. (hahahaha...my toenails included there, I guess!) I like to go camping, and have been known to do the odd road trip, with no destination in mind.

As a person that values a good set of ethics, I really dislike injustice of any kind. No matter how hard it is to do, if it is the right thing, it is a given. I am also a loner. Although I am quite social, and have many friends with whom I enjoy being, I never crave having people around. Quiet times make me happy, such as cuddling with my dog and reading or writing in my journal, but I more than make up for that when I have someone's ear! I live a quiet life, and am not into drama of any kind. Rather, a well balanced life is my goal, and having fun is as important as being laid back.

First and foremost, I am looking to meet new people. Friends first is my mantra. If I was to become interested in someone, it would be with a man who is mature, respectful, responsible and able to take charge. I would hate to limit myself to what someone looks like, because that is only a small part of the package. How does he treat others, animals, his mother? These are questions that I ask myself when considering a man to be a part of my life, as a friend or otherwise.

I consider myself to be adventurous, and I am generally satisfied with life. If you are like minded, don't be shy!

Let's go to Christophers and get wired on caffeinated beverages that I have no idea how to order! We could explore some of the trails this city has to offer on foot or on bikes. Maybe we could walk around Gillies Lake, and get eaten alive by mosquitoes. A game of pool at The Club, along with some drinks could be fun, but I'm warning you now, that if you're a shark, you would have to go easy on me, and I'm not calling any shots! Or how about a bite to eat at that little Chinese restaurant near City Hall? They have spicy dumplings that are to die for, and will for sure, put hair on your chest. I'm up for anything.
