At present my circle of friends has dwindled as people have moved away or fallen into a hectic family routine, and it is getting increasingly difficult to be social if you are done with the bar scene. I'm not looking for a soulmate here, so no pressure! -- though I'm not excluding the possibility that there is someone out there meant for me alone. If finding him means writing another crappy essay about myself or posting another picture which, incidentally, is nowhere near as sensual and lovely as the genuine article, so he can find me, then I'm willing to do that. I am hoping to make a connection as friends and do some dating with an eye to a long term relationship with someone who is single, intelligent, has a witty, dry sense of humor, is ambitious, has stable employment but time for fun and is emotionally available. I offer the same in return. Manners, respect and honesty are a must as is a desire to push beyond the everyday limits we place on ourselves as we've gotten older and set in our ways, and find new ways to enjoy life.
Excessive drinkers won't be a match as I have been sober for 8 1/2 years and plan to stay that way, but occassional drinkers who know their limits are just fine. I'd join you if I could! I love to entertain friends and family, am a terrific cook, am well read, and love to try new things every bit as much as I sometimes crave a lazy night at home with a movie or a good book, or maybe you! I think the best first date is one with possibilities to learn more about the other person and their interests than just a one on one. I love browsing in a bookstore, leisurely strolling through an outdoor auction or exploring a town/city I've never been to before -- all with a cup of Joe.
