I do have a shell around me but I am willing to open up to anyone willing to try. Effort is key to everything. I don't like one night stands, or just one date. I hate when people judge me based on first reactions, even upon reading this. I prefer to treat people like I like to be treated: with cautious optimism.

The first date is not important. Everyone sends their best man or woman to the first date. It's the second and third that are important... when people get out of their element and start to connect is important. So food, coffee, movies, talking, working out, four wheeling, mini golfing, sky diving, and other such activities where you are in contact with someone all count as dates. I think the first date is the one where you connect with the other person... sometimes it takes a while, but trying is the best part.
