I am looking for friends first. If it develops into something more then super, if not, then having a potential new friend is not a bad thing now is it. I am several generations multiracial. Both parents were multiracial. I am predominantly white (Scottish) and black (sub-saharan African). I was born and raised in southern Virginia (Tidewater).

I am a father of 19yo and 8yo sons. They are my main focus. The oldest is a rising junior at Penn State and the younger will be going into 4th grade.

I love to vacation at beaches and I love to cook. I love seafood. I am an engineer by education and own a small technology consulting business. I enjoy quiet evenings with good food, wine, and good conversation.

I am very intelligent (Mensa), graduated from MIT & Harvard, and have a broad knowledge base in many areas. Now, don't get me wrong, raw intelligence can be a good thing, but knowledge and wisdom are needed to compliment. I strive for both and will never have enough of either.

You might enjoy stimulating conversations on a broad range of topics and you might like the idea that I can adapt easily to social situations. I consider myself to be very diverse and flexible. Alone with you or on the town, I might be the friend that you seek.

Never forget comedy relief. I try to make laughter a part of almost everything that I do. I seek it and I try to share with all of those around me. I believe that you should never take yourself so seriously that you can't laugh and laugh at yourself.

Let me see, what else did I miss. I love ocean sunrises & sunsets. I love music, I use to perform classical / jazz (Euphonium / Trombone). I am also very capable on trumpet, bass trumpet, flugelhorn, and french horn.....basically all of the brasses. I was raised on R&B, POP, Jazz, and Rock, but I listen to lots of other stuff also, including: rap, hip hop, neo soul, fusion, acid jazz, downtempo, ambient, drum & bass, electronica, trip hop, progressive, and classical.

I love fishing on the ocean or at least the Chesapeake Bay. The problem with fishing is that I don't catch and release, I catch and cook. If the fish gets on my hook, they are in the pan...period. My favorite seafood is blue channel crab. Growing up in southern Virginia, you get started early learning how to catch crab and how to eat them....yes, it is an art. I started eating them when I was 6 and started catching them with my older brothers when I was 9.

I love road trips. I like museums and art galleries. Jazz clubs are also on my list of places to conversate quietly and privately.

Okay, I have said alot, but hopefully you can get a broad brush picture of the kind of person that I am. Of course, we both know that you never really know a person until you spend time with them.

A good first date would probably be dinner at someplace public but private enough to really have a fairly private conversation. More than likely one of the finer restaurants in the area. The key is comfort. I am a stress free person and I try to promote that in the people that I am around. I don't do "up tight". I am also fairly flexible and willing to adapt.
