I’m sure most of us have done our fair share of dating (in fact, something tells me, we've all had more blind dates than Stevie Wonder) and let’s face it, whether you meet on-line or not, “dating” is not a simple mathematical equation (maaaybe calculus). The basic dating principles MIGHT remain the same, but the “connection” everyone is looking for is always the deal breaker, no matter how good one looks on paper or how well they follow the rules of the dating game. So, come on guys, just because POF declares us a "match", doesn't mean we're meant to be! lol
Without a doubt, we’ve picked up a few key facts in our travels down the road of boy meets girl:
1.) We all like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy us
2.) We are all unique, just like everyone else
3.) Few women admit their age. Few men act theirs (don’t worry guys….most women actually find that endearing )
4.) Love is blind….but I’m sure marriage is a real eye-opener (that’s what I hear... )
5.) Some people should learn from their parents’ mistakes and use birth control
6.) My personal fav….Nobody drives an hour for a handshake JK.
In the process, one could only hope that we've learned a thing or two about ourselves, who we are, what we're looking for in a relationship (maybe that's loaded) and what we’re willing or not willing to compromise on.
ME: I'm passionate about a lot of things:
a.)TRAVELLING: 83 cities in 15 countries and hoping to add many more
b.)EATING: Sweets/carbs (pasta and layering cheese on it or eating nutella out of the jar). I enjoy eating out (Sunday brunch is a fav). Eating out of the bulk aisle at the grocery store is always satisfying.
c.)SHOPPING: for anything and everything including any stupid thing possible off infomercials (I still have 2 bullet mixers and 2 Billy Blanks Trampolines somewhere)
d.)ACTIVITIES/HOBBIES/INTERESTS: running (marathons), working out, yoga/pilates, skiing, rollerblading, swimming, making jewelry, decorating, music, curling up with a good movie (and a man...preferably at the same time...otherwise the man will do), reading a good book, hitting the cottage. Photography is something I'm interested in exploring this year.
e.) LIFE & LOVE: An impulsive nature makes me prone to getting swept off my feet by the sudden appearance of love. Perhaps this has allowed me to love enough toxic men in my life that when a good one comes along I will be able to appreciate him (one would only hope). So, why is it that EVERY time I meet Mr. NICE Guy, my mind wanders off to Mr. BAD Boy? An old-fashioned romantic, I appreciate the sentimental expressions of love from Mr. Sensitive. But the adventurous, passionate side of me yearns for Mr. Not So Sensitive who excites and thrills me to the core with his playfulness and spontaneity. Striving for a connection on all levels, my body follows when my mind is aroused.
YOU: Sense of humour is key! Someone that can make me laugh and can laugh at my stupidity in return is tops in my books. Good looks are important, but a guy that knows what he's looking for in life is hands down the #1 pre-requisite. Independence & Self-determination are Important, but a man who can strike a fine balance between being Mr. Sensitive and Mr. Not So Sensitive is hot...keeps an aries girl like myself on my toes.
Hopefully, I still have your attention. So, If you’re:
a.) Planning on skipping the country to pursue a career in lets say, film/acting
b.) Married or separated and still trying to work things out
c.) Still trying to get closure with an ex
d.) All of the above (and more)
Then, “save your breath, you’ll need it to blow up your date”.
Basic Math skills are a bonus (profile + picture = response) and (profile + no picture = no response)....and this doesn't mean pics of your dog (unless you are in the pic with them), your car in the driveway, your friends with you tucked away in the background or you with your ex :) Just you! Fair is fair. Oh and no fake pics please....tired of googling models and actors...
If any of it struck a chord, lets chat (if not, good luck in your search)
LUST IS EASY, LOVE IS HARD. LIKE IS IMPORTANT. Carl Reiner

If the connection is there, I'd be all smiles at a Taco Bell drive-thru :) I'm easy, whatever the mood calls for.
