Hi there, my name's Emma and I'm a nurse in the Borders. I'm 30 years old, 5'7", currently have short brown hair (but that often changes)and green eyes. I'm not really a girly girl so if that's what you're after, you can save yourself some time by looking elsewhere now. I have a 3 yr old labradoodle that I adore, and I love going out for walks around the borders with him. I thought I quite liked computers until I started a masters degree in a software subject and hated it. Now I'm not so sure. I do enjoy films with good acting and a good plot but tend to steer clear of period costume dramas and I'm not too keen on big budget, no-plot Hollywood pap.
I'm looking for a guy who's caring and sensitive and who intuitively understands me. I'm really hoping for a man with his own opinions and the intelligence/passion to be able to stand up for what he believes in.
I do have some strong opinions of my own on a couple of topics but I'm generally open minded and able to see both sides of the coin. I'm a fairly independent woman and not just looking for some rich man to keep me in manicures. I often think I would like to win the lottery and live a life of leisure but I know that in reality I would be bored and would have to get a job after a couple of months for the sake of my sanity.

First Date
Well, doesn't every woman like to be swept off their feet and surprised/challenged ? A weekend in Italy would be nice, or a trip white water rafting, or a parachute jump maybe. However, I do live in the real world and a chat over a coffee is much more my thing. If, after a coffee we get on but there's no attraction there, then I'll consider myself lucky to have made a new friend. If, on the other hand we get on like a house on fire, then the possibilites for the next date(s) are endless.
