About Me
Ok, so I was recently asked by someone to talk about the real me, and after I got done writing it all down, I thought that it would be a better description on here then what I have had in the past (and it will be a fuzz shorter too!) Without further ado, here is most of what I wrote...
So, about the real me...I'm a funny guy. Not funny like I should have my own stand up routine, but funny like I'll put a smile on your face most of the night. I look and act like a hard ass, but inside I'm a big softy. You can't do some of the things I've done and see some of the things I've seen without having some compassion for your fellow man. Also, I'm a bit shy at first but tend to warm up quickly. I may browse (not stalk) your profile a few times before I get up the nerve to say "Hi." If you think I'm taking too long, then by all means you may take the first step! I like to play with my dogs (Black Labs) and my daughter (more on her later) so usually regardless of the weather (rain being the exception) you'll find me outside for a lil bit each day getting my ass handed to me by both the dogs and daughter! I LOVE to cuddle...pretty much anywhere, and find that I tend to be far more spontaneous then structured when it comes to almost anything (read as I don't plan much at all.) I don't play video games, don't hunt, and I don't watch much sports (weird, right?) That is unless the Red Wings are in the playoffs...then I'm kinda obsessed!
I have faults, some of them I'm working on, and some of them I am just fine with. Most of them are things that only I notice, mostly OCD kind of stuff, or nit picky things...like the 40lbs I've gained since my bike accident almost two years ago. Having my daughter has made me want to be a better man/father, and so I guess you could say that she is my inspiration, and why I strive to be a better person.
I ride my motorcycle as much as possible, and so in turn, I would hope that you would like to too, although this is not a requirement. I am perfectly happy riding by myself if you are ok with doing something else while I’m out, however, don’t think that I will stop riding if you’re not a fan. My Harley used to be my father’s; therefore, I ride not only to be relaxed, but to also remember my father. There is nothing more relaxing to me than to go for a ride in the country.
I'm a geek. Yup, a biker geek. I bet you didn't even know such a type of person existed! I'm attending college for computer networking and administration. This fall semester is going to be my most trying semester ever, so I hope you’ll understand that my availability may be limited. I build my own computers. I own a Blackberry and a Bluetooth headset. I try to own the newest and coolest techie crap. It is who I am, and I am happy with it. There are many out there that are far more geeky than I, but it would still be an injustice for me to disassociate myself from that crowd as they are my people!
I am also a mechanic. I worked on Heavy Trucks and equipment for six years before my accident. I can fix almost anything, given the proper tools, which I already own many of. Because of my electrical background I specialized in electrical system diagnostics, troubleshoot and repair. I can figure out and fix: why your service engine soon light is on in your semi or car, why your computer does that thing it does, and one of my daughter’s broken toys. I'm pretty versatile and therefore typically have no issues when it comes to earning my keep. Once, one of my ex-girlfriends said to me that if the world came to an end she was happy that she was with me because we would make it after the world went to shit. There isn’t much I can’t do…
I’m a volunteer firefighter. Second generation. My father was on the same department I’m on and he did it for twenty seven years, whereas I’ve been at it for just over fourteen now. If you’re not too squeamish I have some pretty graphic stories, but if blood and guts isn’t your thing then I’ll keep quiet. I’m not as involved with the fire service like I used to be because of my injuries from my accident, but I can still grab a hose and run inside to take care of business if it needs to happen; however, I try to leave that to the new guys now. Typically anymore I’m just an engineer (the guy who runs the truck)
Last but certainly not least, I’m a great father to my wonderful four year old daughter. I’m fortunate enough to have her three days out of the week and every other weekend. She is my pride and joy and puts a smile on my face nearly every moment I am around her. I am so privileged to have such a great little girl who listens and minds as well as she does. She’s much of the reason I am who I am today.
Oh, I also forgot to mention that I LOVE music! I have a fairly large and varied music collection, but the majority of it consists of rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. I'm not saying that I don't have a few country or dance CD's, but typically when I rock out I do just that, with rock! Current songs stuck on "Repeat" are "Careless Whisper" remade by Seether and "A Looking In View" by Alice In Chains but also including the new Sick Puppies CD "Tri-Polar". Recently wore out CD's consist of "Head For The Door" and "A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth" both by The Exies, along with every CD produced by Seether, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, and Evans Blue. Music is the emotional voice and mine frequently likes to scream, therefore the occasional blaring of said music should be anticipated, accepted, and occasionally encouraged! :-p
So, in a nutshell, that is who I really am. Of course there is more than this, but these are the high points. So what do ya think? Do ya still have more questions? I’m sure you do, as there is a lot that is left unanswered here, but then again, that just leaves us something to talk about later!
I have my space, AIM and Yahoo. Send me your screen name and I'll add you if interested.
Oh yeah, and just a few other things. If you add me to your favorites and I have no interest in you, I will kindly remove myself. If I have no interest in you, then what's the point in being one of your favorites? I'm not keeping a score card of how many have "favorited" me and I'm sure the world isn't gonna end if I'm not on anyone's favorite list...well, pretty sure... Also, it would be great if your email had some actual content, especially if your page doesn't. If you don't provide me with some info, then how am I to know what kind of person you really are?

First Date
Before a date even happens there needs to be conversation. Talking is so underrated. Be it by email, voicemail, phone, fax, or snailmail, I don't really care, I just wanna talk. If we don't really mesh on the phone or paper why should we both waste our petrol to end up getting let down! Ahh, but if we do mesh, probably a nice date to a restaurant of your choice. I say that because it will give you the upper hand by allowing you to sit and eat in a place your comfortable. Maybe post a lookout to ensure I’m not some creep! It’s all good for me. If I were a woman I would hate to date some guy I have never met and would definitely want to be somewhere I felt safe.
If things went well through dinner, maybe go for a walk and talk more, ya know, like in the movies! I’m kinda a romantic like that, or at least I used to be. I’m trying to be that guy again, I just need to meet the right woman to bring it out of me again. Ya kinda hafta wanna do it, or have a reason to do it. Anyways, it would be nice to not really have a plan and play most of the night by ear; however, If the weather was nice, maybe even go out on my Harley and cruise the countryside, if your into that sort of thing. Lastly, to bring the evening to a close, how about staying out too late gazing at the stars? I’m in, how about you?
