I'm not very good writing or talking about myself (talking about my cats is another matter!).
I'm also not very good at introductions, so why don't *YOU* take the initiative an write to me?

I grew up in England an came to Canada on vacation 1980; I fell in love with this place and decided to stay.

As you might expect I have a dry British sense of humour and propensity for word-play - the only form of 'mind-games' I indulge in.

I value honest and integrity, even when it hurts; enjoy shaggy-dog stories. Animals seem to like me. I'm known for talking walks with my cats and growing sunflowers. This year I'm trying for climbing roses. I like seafood but am not good at cooking it, do OK stir-fry and an excellent Shepherd's Pie (better than my mothers!). I like porridge and digestive biscuits and my coffee mild (i.e. not Starbucks. I don't watch or have a TV, am not a couch potato, don't own a remote control and have no interest in competitive sports, being photogenic or playing the lottery. I'm an obsessive reader but don't get to write as much as I'd like.

*sigh* That doesn't make me sound very romantic, does it? Perhaps that's because I think being romantic is something you do, not something you talk about.

Yes, I do Tai Chi and wish I'd taken it up 40 years ago. I can't call myself a Daoist, but it has awakened my interest in such matters. Self development is good but shouldn't need crutches.

I appreciate integrity, honesty, creativity, friendship, loyalty.

I don't feel my age. I'd like to meet someone who doesn't feel her age either.

INTEGRITY, IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT THEN I'M NOT INTERESTED.

I get very nervous about meeting people for the first time - dates, interviews, new jobs. Of course I want to make a good impression; use the right fork, not slurp my soup a generally keep my foot out of my mouth.

I don't know why I get nervous. Once I'm over the "waddyawannado - eyedunno, waddyawanndo" bit and we meet the butterflies go away. After all, its the company that counts, not the location or the activity. Coffee, Indian dinner, somewhere we can talk - talk and find that hours have gone by without noticing because we have such a great rapport.

I have great hopes for us. Hopes that go beyond coffee.

Note: I don't drink because I usually drive and there are few beers or spirits I like. Don't let that put you off, though.
