I love New York. I love the pace, and the intensity. But I also like it when that pace slows down and things settle. I like to be downtown, where I know my neighbors and we meet at the local cafe, intending to stay 5 minutes, and walk out an hour later. I love colored glasses and t-shirts - odd, quirky t-shirts. Mostly, I am in jeans and a hoodie.

I love New Yorker, though these days I seem only to get to it when i am traveling. if you see me on the subway reading, it is probably from an August issue. Over the years, I have collected my favorite cartoons into one journal - if you know BEK, that might be an insight into my sense of humor. In case you don't know his work, my humor is pretty dry, quirky, and random; sometimes crass and tends towards Arrested Development and Family Guy.

It isn't uncommon that I say something kind of random and, apparently, funny, but not necessarily meant to be. I have been called fiery. I have a pretty strong personality and will say what’s on my mind. But my intensity is matched by my compassion; I feel things deeply and often wear my heart on my sleeve.

I am a mac person and tend to gravitate towards creatives. I want to learn final cut and then fiddle around with my guy making short and quirky videos (get your mind out of the gutter).

I am quite far left. And I am a leftie. I like to be with people who enjoy having a conversation that gets below the surface but is interspersed with hilarity. I appreciate the difference between "your" and "you're".

Being so little, I don’t really like big crowds. Please don’t ask me to go to a parade.

I enjoy hanging out with people who read and go to galleries and want to travel to countries that are not like ours at all. I love to wander around and take pictures of graffiti on a pretty day. A huge (not very frequent) treat is to stumble across a good flea market. One of my favorite things about NYC is the food. I love eating out or having a drink with friends, which is, admittedly, what i do most from the social perspective. I am not a club person, places that are more intimate (though not always more quiet) are where I am found - I do enjoy hearing live music, smaller venues being my favorite.

I think these summaries are haphazard, so is this one. But I am kind of random, too, so maybe that explains it.
