About Me
It is so very difficult to describe oneself objectively, but here's a shot--my strenths are that I am extremely loving and compassionate, idealistic, spiritual and transcendent. Happiness would truly be falling in love with my "soul mate," but I'm a naturally happy person with a warm smile, who loves live music (rhythm & blues, blues, jazz), laughing so hard it hurts my face, great coffee, good food, chocolate, a great drive to nowhere, laughing at myself, family, friends, that special glance, animals, walks in the sunlight or the sunset, Pike Street Market, International District, the waterfront, self-care, loving a man, social justice, great clothes and shoes, makeup, and on, and on, and on.
I work at a college in the Diversity & Equity Center managing women's programs--great job. And, I am very much who what I do. It brings together the culmination of my life experiences allowing me to pass on my gifts and wisdom to other women and empower them to reach their goals and come into their own.
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them They think I'm telling lies.
I say It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please
And to a man
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.
I say It's the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth The swing of my waist
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say It's in the arch of my back
The sun of my smile
The ride of my breasts
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud..
I say It's in the click of my heels
The bend of my hair The palm of my hand The need for my care. 'Cause I'm a woman Phenomenally Phenomenal woman That's me.

First Date
Hmmm...On the first date, I want a setting that sets us both at ease--coffee at Starbucks (love great coffee), lunch or dinner at a nice quiet restaurant where we can chat and get to know one another. Meeting sooner than later is my preference as well. I think the only way to really know if there is a great connection is to be able to see each other's eyes and feel if there is energy between us. What do you think?
