Although I find this part of the process of meeting someone one of the most difficult ones, I will do my best to describe who I am without sounding too commomplace or corny. That being said, here I go.
I am quite independent; however, that does not mean that I don't need anybody in my life. It simply means that for a long time I have made my own decisions. Yet, sometimes, it would be nice to have someone who would help share the responsibility.
I am direct (or so I've been told), devoted to friends, sensitive, and quite happy. I am also an animal lover and people who are cruel to animals deserve much, much more than just a fine and a few months imprisonment. I do have pets and I like pets in general. ... Perhaps I would draw the line at snake pets,
My friends are a family of sorts. They have given me support in times of need and I have done the same for them. They are very important in my life and I am devoted to them.
In terms of some of my interests, sometime in the future I would love to travel to a place other than my country of origin (Argentina) and I would like my date to appreciate travel, too. I like doing many things, as you can see in my brief profile. Besides those listed, I also like to hang out at cafes and bookstores, listening to music live or not, dancing, and having dinner at restaurants, or at home, ... it depends on the mood. In terms of movies, I like chick flicks, action ("guy") movies, drama, comedies, ... but my favorites are scary movies. I don't like the gooey, bloody, chopping-up-people kind of movie, but the suspense ones. One of my hobbies is to paint and I try to take a class weekly and just slap some oil on the canvas for the fun of it.
I would like to meet an honest, intelligent man who likes conversation, who knows what he wants and is not afraid to express it or to seek it. A sense of humor is very important, as well as a healthy lifestyle. I do not date smokers or people who drink too much. I know that this sounds rather harsh, but since I appreciate honesty I also have to be candid.
I hope that all of this does not sound presumptious or arrogant. It was written with honesty and the best intentions.
On a first date, I usually go to a Starbucks or to a bookstore, if my date and I agree to keep it casual. Otherwise, I usually go out for dinner and a drink afterwards (if there is still reciprocal interest). However, before we get to that point, I prefer some degree of contact, via email first and on the phone later. Then it can be decided if and when and where to meet.
