I'm laid-back in life, but when I devote myself to something I DEVOTE MYSELF. Dating is not one of those things right now, though. I'm looking for someone who just wants to have a fun evening thinking, talking, and maybe cuddling.

I work with people with autism, and spend a lot of time thinking about disability rights and autism's place in the world. I have a tattoo on my ankle supporting the autism acceptance movement. I am preparing to be one of the few psychologists who works with autistic adults.

In my free time I do a lot of stereotypically geeky hobbies, like playing video games and Magic cards. I also like to read, preferring fantasy and sci-fi but willing to read anything I get my hands on. Favorite authors include Kelly Link, Stephen King, Piers Anthony, Ptricia C. Wrede, and David Sedaris. I have also recently stumbled across and enjoyed "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" and am currently reading "Bonfire of the Vanities."

Good first dates: Visiting a board game store for a competition or to browse, plays (especially musicals!), the typical dinner and a movie, or going to an art gallery or a museum.

Bad first dates: Hiking, sports games, going straight back to your apartment. (It would be tempting if we were going to play video games... but still not safe. I'm small, so I'm paranoid.)
