I know that self-deprecation is all charming and stuff but I'm trying to sell myself here, so I'm shedding the modesty for a moment:

I'm fun, intelligent, passionate, reasonably good-looking by commonly accepted standards, and I have a successful career as a comic book artist - yes, really. Just like Ben Affleck in Chasing Amy (although without the sexual dysfunction and beer gut). I'm lucky to have managed to turn my lifelong passion into a very successful career, and I'm handy to have around in emergencies when you need to know who's stronger, Superman or the Hulk (answer: Superman's strength remains constant but the Hulk's strength increases proportionate to his anger. Obviously). I can dress myself and carry a good conversation, and I think there are definitely worse ways to spend a day than with me.

I've been repeatedly called Seth Cohen, because of the comic book thing and my taste in music. I'm a music junkie (my iTunes list has 14,000 songs and growing) I love all genres of music from classical to speed metal and everything inbetween, but I'm mainly an indie rock boy and am constantly craving new bands to become obsessive over. Suggestions on a mix tape, please.*

*by "mix tape" I of course mean "mp3 playlist" but it doesn't sound as good.

I'm looking for someone who can teach me new things. Someone who's smart, stylish, interesting, good-looking (sorry if that's shallow but if it's romance on your agenda, I need to be attracted to you), and hiply square. Someone who can appreciate and understand that my freelance artist lifestyle means occasionally being chained to the drawing table. Someone who can enjoy sitting in with a movie (bonus points if you can appreciate movies that are a) foreign, b) black and white, and c) full of zombies) and wine as much as going out and throwing it down on the dancefloor. Someone who can appreciate both high and low culture. Someone who can share, or at the very least tolerate, my incredibly geeky impulses and interests - I can talk about art, literature, and politics but sooner or later you're gonna have to listen to me talk about Batman (in return I will listen to a story about something really cute your cat did or what your favourite episode of Sex and the City is). Someone who, upon seeing me shred a wicked-ass solo on Guitar Hero, will find it impressive instead of asking my why I don't just learn how to play a real guitar. Someone who's fun to be with so that I can return the favour.
