Hmm..well, I'm Brad...I'm 27 and working on my masters in secondary education and my teaching certification after realizing I really didn't want to do the entire physics grad school thing... Actually looking forward to teaching in the Chicago Public School system when all's said and done. Ideally I want to find a way to incorporate Social Justice into a science curriculum

::UPDATE:: I just finished my masters and I'm now starting my first year teaching high school physics and chemistry.

I guess I see teaching as opportunity to have an impact on urban kids when the urban education system is so often overlooked. I see it as an opportunity to give students the tools to view their world critically and reflectively and in such a way that they realize that they need to critique the world around them if they ever want to better their own situation.... all while still teaching them physics.

Around my friends I can be an "smart-ass" according to them...but in a good way, pinky swear..;-)...Personally, I prefer the term witty

Depends on the person and the mood...dinner...coffee...live music....something outdoors....exploring Chicago...Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (TMLMTBGB), First Friday at MCA, Subterranean, Schubas, Beat Kitchen ...I live in Roscoe Village so theres always plenty to do.
