I grew up on the east coast and drove cross-country by myself in 2005 seeking a new adventure. Ended up never turning back. i love the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the outdoor lifestyle of southern california, but am also someone who seeks intelligent conversation and perspective on the outside world. i'm looking for someone who is smart, curious, motivated, well-traveled, and has good friends and family of his own. a sense of humor, positive attitude, and sense of adventure are also musts. i hope you're out there! :)

Some things about me: Being outdoors and active is what I love to do. After all, that's pretty much why I live in San Diego. I enjoy hiking, camping, running, lying on the beach, playing in the waves, etc. I love road trips and traveling. I've lived in Europe, studied abroad in Australia, and traveled extensively in the U.S. I have done one olympic-distance triathlon with Team in Training, and am now in a hiking/backpacking group with the Sierra Club. I went to college and grad school on the east coast and I miss being a student. The next best thing is being a teacher (always learning new things and still have great vacations!). I adore animals, especially dogs. I care about the environment and I try to take good care of my health. I want to meet a guy who has similar priorities.

I do have some quirks. For example I am a stickler for spelling (yes, blonde is the way you spell it for females, whereas blond is for males), yet I don't care so much about capitalizing my i's. :) I don't mind getting girlied up once in a while, but I really prefer to be out in my flipflops and shorts, or better yet in some hiking boots exploring a new trail. I want to meet someone who will go fishing with me. I still haven't done that since I moved out here and it's driving me crazy since there is water everywhere!

I enjoy grabbing a happy hour drink and attempting a few games of pool or some other activity that takes a bit of the pressure off, rather than just staring at each other across a formal meal during the first meeting. if it goes well, a walk on the beach is always one of my favorite activities.
