I am just looking for the right person to share my life & interests with. She should be educated, successful, independent, & have a good sense of humor.

I work in higher ed at a state university - that's right, I have clout. No, just kidding, I've been in this business for about 20 years now. I really like this kind of work environment - academic, creative, kind of casual, but a real sense of purpose. I especially enjoy developing new reporting & administrative software tools - recently went through implementation (was that a yawn? OK, enough of that.)

Recently I've dedicated considerable time to developing a hobby into potentially something bigger. Or I'm having a mid-life crisis, hard to tell. I'm playing guitar & doing some singing in a blues, rock 'n' roll band put together with some close friends. Since this is a passion of mine I really want to ride this out & see where it leads. Maybe somewhere, maybe nowhere, but the ride is the fun part, right?

I enjoy different kinds of music, not just blues & rock - alternative, some pop, jazz, even ska, country... My guitar hero, Ritchie Blackmore (you guessed it), is now playing 16th century medieval folk music. And it's good (No! yes).

Anyway, you will find me to be pretty easy-going (not the volatile type at all), comfortable in a relationship (but also on my own), & generally a happy, glass is half-full person. I won't lie, I have my cynical moments, but generally very positive. I want the person I'm with to be happy in a relationship with me.

For a first date, I'd prefer something simple, like coffee or lunch, while we get to know each other a little bit.
