This is the section where I am supposed to talk about myself. This is the most difficult section, and I hope that others will view me in the way that I view myself. I think that I am a caring, understanding person who is trustworthy, honest and very loyal, funny and easy to get along with. Sort of like a good dog on two legs. I come from a large family that likes being together - so I think I also bring those family-oriented values to a relationship.

I have been single for about 12 years. Over the past few years I have not dated much, concentrating on my job and my relationship with my kids. I travel a bit throughout the Northeast, though I mostly split my time between Connecticut and New York City. Recently, I returned from a business trip late at night, and as I climbed into bed I realized how much I miss having a special someone to curl up with. I decided it was time to try again. Since single women are not falling out of the sky I decided to give this a try.

Before I wrote my profile I looked through the profiles of many of the women on Plenty of Fish. I noticed that there seem to be recurring complaints - game playing, a lack of honesty and the general theme of "please don't waste my time." I'm not here to waste anyone's time. I'm not interested in games, dishonesty or drama. I'm looking for a long-term relationship that will lead to something special. Please don't waste my time either. And if you are so inclined to add me as a favorite - please say hello. I can't figure out why I'm added to favorites and never hear from those who add me. Say hello, send cookies or dancing bananas - something, anything.

Many of the women with children on the site describe their kids as their world. As a father, I understand the necessity. That's the way it should be. Children should come first - I think I'm secure enough and mature enough to know that there will be plenty of time for me once the children are taken care of. I also noticed that a recurring theme of many women is a frustration with men viewing this as a hookup site. That's not my style. I can't imagine a worse way to start a relationship - I'm not a one-night stand kinda guy.
