I am an Italian American male, pursuing a performing arts career. I travel to Italy every summer to visit friends and TRY to work on my Italian, if I can understand the dialect they are using. I tend to go slow when meeting people. The type of woman I'd like to meet is someone who is attractive, thoughtful, not arrogant and likes to move slowly in developing a relationship. I don't know if this is a NY thing but it seems like so many women here have serious insecurity and emotional issues. I like someone who has their act together and has a good head on her shoulders. We all have problems/issues in life and I am sympathetic to that but don't run away from them, deal with them and be in control. Otherwise you turn into an emotional basket case which is what I am trying to avoid. I am known to be a very good listener but a psychologist I am not...and I don't charge anything.

On a first date, I figure that the important thing is to just go out and have a good time with those whose company I enjoy. Instead of getting all nervous and planning something big that is waaaaaay over our heads, why don't we just hang out at a coffee place, or a lounge, have a drink, or two, or three or ....(well, we'll decide how many when we are there) and relax and get to know one another. No reason to get uptight now is there?
