I'm pretty much a dork, and I'm pretty much not like 99% of the folks you meet. I'm rabidly anti-materialistic, which doesn't mean I don't have stuff, or money, or don't want either, but that none of that matters to me, at least not other than it's practical use to me. I want to have money, because it can get me places and help me in life, and because I can give it to those who need it more than I do if I feel like it. Money is a source of freedom, and it exists to work for you, not the other way around. Other than that, its just money. I don't do jewelry, fancy hair, or just alot of time in general being concerned with my appearances, there are just alot more important things in life than whether I (or you) look pretty at any given moment. I don't put up with shallow people. Well, not for long.

I like the outdoors, doing things myself, and for myself, like growing my own food when I can. I like to hike. I like to run. I like to challenge myself, physically and mentally, as much as possible.

I am addicted to languages. Modern language, ancient language, doesn't matter, they all fascinate me. I've spent time learning...in order....Russian, Latin, Attic and Koine Greek, Arabic, French, Spanish, Icelandic (not much of it though), Old Irish (practically none of it though...) Old Norse, etc, etc. Languages and language history completely captivate me, and I love the challenge. It's some serious brain food to me.

I like animals, the woods, and the country..a lot...so if you're wanting to move into the city and raise your kids in a sterile environment, I'm not your guy, keep on movin'. Just to let you know what the possibilities are...I have: a squirrel (that's right...a pet squirrel) chickens, ducks, 3 dwarf goats, and 3 dogs. I have had: snakes(lots of them), various other reptiles and amphibians, bass, opossum, and several other random animals that I can't think of right now, and I used to work at Roper Mountain Science Center. If it's any comfort though, I do lean more towards barnyard types of animals these days, and the only critter allowed inside is the Jack Russell Terrier, Stymie.

Oh, and I'm working on finding a pair of bull calves to raise and train as oxen. Why? Because that's how I do it. Just chalk me up as insane, unless this kind of thing interests/fascinates you like it does me, and then let's talk.

One day I want to own my own bit of land where I can work with horses and/or oxen. I love draft horses and work with them for a friend. I want some cattle, and other critters, and to just live simply...off the land, etc. And outdoors. I hate being inside.

Like I said, I try to grow as much of my own food as I can, because I love doing so. This year my goal for the summer and fall is to learn how to can, pickle, and preserve what I grow, which is mostly heirloom vegetables, but also a good bit of fruits as well. I know...that sounds odd coming from a guy. I am odd...and I LIKE it.

I play in the praise band at my church, which is technically Baptist, but I don't really care much for the denominational thing. My faith is an important part of who I am, but don't let that make you think that I am perfect, or that I somehow think that I am. I just refuse to let my imperfections get in the way of doing what I believe I can be doing for my Lord.

I love me some music. Almost ANY music. Charlie 106.3 was the best station ever....RIP charlie...I absolutely love any good music (good to me...of course). I love oldies (Oldies 103.3 is one of my favorite stations), rock, alot of Christian music, disco stuff (don't worry...I don't dance), some rap, some pop, I love Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown (God rest his soul), Motown, Celtic music, bagpipe music, any sort of music with alot of drums and rhythm, African and Indian music for instance. If you're around me for long, music is going to be brought up, and I listen to music probably 60% of the time.

I'm probably up for almost anything, although I don't really like the bar scene (unless it involves some good live music.)
