I'd love to do big things with the rest of my life, but I'd happily settle for a life that I can put my whole self into. I want to use myself up (every single bit of myself) before I die. So when it's time to go there'll be nothing left, and I'll be ready. I want to date; I want to dance; I'd love to meet a woman I can work and play with. I want to learn; I want to teach. This summer I'm taking a painting class with my 18-year-old daughter. She paints fast, and she lays the paint on thick, like Van Gogh. I’ve taught her a lot, now she’s teaching me. I want to run; I want to do the Sun Salutation with grace and ease. I want to be a part of a community. I want to have friends over for dinner. I want to tell funny stories. I want to sing songs with friends. I want to take chances; I don’t want to be afraid to live.

For a first date I'd like to buy you dinner and talk and talk and talk. If dinner seems a bit much for a first date, then let's make it lunch, or breakfast. Or we could meet for a glass of wine, or a mug of beer, or a cup of coffee, an ice cream cone, etc. . . . But regardless of what we’re doing there's got to be plenty of conversation, a fair amount of smiles and at least a few laughs.
