About Me
Hiya! I'm Jordan.

I'm an archaeologist and I am working on my Ph.D. My area of study is stone tools, and my fieldwork is in Peru. My eventual goal is to become a professor and, while it may be somewhat obvious, this is a field which I love dearly (even if I do often pine for other things). I guess I would like to meet someone who can appreciate what I'm doing, and who will not get too bored when I ramble at lengths about it.

I love to watch any movie, read any book, or listen to any album, so long as it reminds me about how beautiful, how wonderful, and how incredible our world truly is. My movies and books can be all over the place (there's not really a specific genre which I particularly like, but the vast majority of movies and even books simply do not interest me. I guess I like "classics" or things that should be considered classic. They often have lasting power for very good reason). My music tastes are less varied, though still vast. I tend to particularly classic rock, or especially the "1965-75" stuff, and also love jazz, and am sort of starting to get into all sorts of other genres, from 1940s blues to modern indie-ish stuff. I'm somewhat of a foodie, and I quite enjoy cooking. I think that I can create some very interesting and tasty dishes, and what feedback I have received tends to reinforce that. Social and environmental justice are both very important to me, although I do not get as involved in the promotion of either as I probably should. I'm quite liberal. I really enjoy deep, meaningful conversation, on anything ranging from our deepest hopes, fears and desires, to the philosophies that guide our lives, to the places that we have been and that we want to be. I'm sure that we would get past the "small talk" in 0.2 minutes. It's just not me. I am brutally shy, though, and tend to never approach people ever, but I really open up once I get to know someone.

Probably my greatest passion is simply getting out there to see the world. There is nothing better than having some water, a snack, and two tires full of air, as you ride on down the road feeling the wind in your hair. There is nothing better than having some friends, some food, and a tank full of gas, as you embark upon a road trip sure to be filled with amazing scenery and adventure around every turn. There is nothing better than having a camera, a lunch, and a sturdy walking stick as you head out along the trail, through meadows and forests to reach an awe-inspiring vista, revealing the world below. There is nothing better than having a packed backpack, a good book to read, and a boarding pass ready to go, as you get settled into your seat and excitingly await take-off, anxious to experience a whole new world, if only to you. There is nothing better than travel, exploration, and heading off to see a new place, or to visit a favourite yet again. Those are four of my favourite ways to get to know our world, and I love them all greatly.

I really hate having to pigeon-hole myself, and this site is pretty terrible. Oh, um, for that. So while I say "dating" in my profile, I am really looking for—and am happy to find—anything from just friends through casual dating to a full-on relationship. Still, that said, this place is mostly just another form of procrastination for me. I've been on this site for more than four years (continuously), and in all that time I've only met one person from here, and talked to but a few others. So many people on here seem like they are desperate for something, but I just treat this site as another way of connecting to the outside world through the internet. If something more comes from it, then great! If nothing does, then great! No worries, either way.

First Date
I have only been living in London since around mid-July, and while I have begun to explore a few parts of the city and the area, it would be nice to have someone to join me on my explorations. Really, anywhere where we could chat would be best. How about a nice light meal, a drink, or a coffee somewhere downtown, and go for a walk through Victoria Park, or admire some of the great old architecture which this city seems to have? Anything is good, as long as it gives us the opportunity to really start to learn who each other are.

Thorondor has 2 roses that can be sent.
