Highly (over)educated man with diverse interests and occupations. I am widely travelled, with an interest in cultural tourism. Social justice is the guiding concept in my political perspective. I look for the humor in any situation.

I'm in the final throes of completing the doctorate in Education. My goal (and academic preparation) is to teach teachers about the background and foundations of their craft, emphasizing social justice in educational history.

I've had a long and diverse career, ranging from teaching at a university to the most mundane types of labor. Currently, I'm a self-employed remodeling contractor.

In my spare time I enjoy alpine skiing and road bicycling. I enjoy all kinds of music, with a preference for obscure rock (think KEXP). Mostly, though, my radio is tuned to KUOW. Movies are also a favorite pastime--my tastes run the gamut from historical drama to stupid comedies to documentaries. When given the choice, I'll usually opt for small ethnic restaurants. Travel, especially in Europe, is a passion, and I visit the Continent annually for two or three weeks.


I'd like to meet an intelligent, educated (traits that are not, alas, necessarily synonymous) woman. Ideally, she would be intellectually curious, adventurous, and active.

How about something unusual and daring, like meeting for coffee?
