I am looking for the woman that when we meet, we feel a closeness and comfort right away; where guile is not needed and honesty flows oh so easily. Where we feel accepted in spite of the wear and tear that life has visited upon us. Where smiling, laughing and eye contact are so easy, we don't want the moment to end. Where, in our heads, we start imagining the future together even though we only met an hour ago. Flights of fancy begin to dance in our heads because we think that fate, or luck, has arrived just in the nick of time; we thought that love might not happen again in our lives. I have been in love before and will not stop looking until I find it again. I hope that it will be the right time and place in our lives where we are both so ready for love again, that we do everything we can to promote and grow it.

In spite of the following, you will find me easy-going, fun, funny, open, very social, friendly and happy. I am spontaneous, willing to try most things, carry no grudges and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. I am a 19 year-old, trapped in the body of a 35 year-old who has been alive 56 years...I am a freak of nature, but, endearing.

1. I have always been a humanist in my beliefs even though I was raised in a practicing Catholic household and attended church regularly. Religion, metaphysics and the supernatural were never a part of my life, but, The GOLDEN RULE always has been. I don't just talk the talk, I really Walk the Walk in how I live my life and treat others. If you are not uber-religious, we can get along fine and I will support you in your beliefs by attending your church or religious group's social events. As religious beliefs are such a personal issue, let's agree to disagree in the most kindly manor possible.

2. I am politically and socially progressive: if two men or two women want to marry, be my guest. If a woman chooses to end her pregnancy, it is her body and her choice, not mine and the U.S. Supreme Court agrees. National health care, I am all over that. Global warming, we can't afford not to fight it. I am inclusive in my life, not exclusive. Now, if a dog and cat want to marry and have off-spring, I do get a little twitchy.

3. I am physically active and in very good shape; I play tennis or work out several times a week. I strive to always be in good health physically, mentally and emotionally. I have no hang-ups, phobias, conditions, or degenerative health issues. If you were the same, Hallelujah.

4. I am a light drinker (alcohol) and if I never drank again, would not miss it. I have already spent too much time with people who had alcohol and medication issues and prefer not to go there again. If you can take it or leave it, great. If you NEED IT, not great for us. I have a drink when I want one, not just because it is after work or for social reasons. There is no shame in not drinking all of the time. Instead of reaching for a drink, reach for me :-). Where do you see yourself?

5. I have been married and divorced twice and have learned from my mistakes. I was not perfect when I was married and won't be in the future; but, I am very loyal and committed. I do know how to communicate easily and openly about things that matter and will forever strive to not go to bed hurt or unhappy. I have already done that and all it does is give one a crappy night of sleep; delaying doesn't help anything, it only lets problems grow and fester. Passive/aggressive communication is not really communication, is it?

6. I have 3 daughters aged 17, 26 and 28. The youngest is with me half-time, the middle is single and local, and the oldest is married and in the Bay Area. I enjoy all of their company a great deal and can't see them enough (but, apparently, they can :-). Like me, they are very accepting and you won't have to worry about fitting in.

7. The woman that I fall in love with can be from any country, race, color, or religion; it doesn't matter to me. Hair color and length, fancy nails or not, tall or short are not important. The heart and mind connections are more important than what is on the outside; however, being in good physical, emotional, and mental shape are very important to me. It is hard to be attracted to someone who is not treating her body well. And, as physical intimacy is one of nature's most enjoyable (and free) pleasures, I need to be attracted to you physically.

Coffee or tea works best. If you cannot survive a coffee date, what will you do when I try to kiss you...faint, hit me, call the police? The chemistry and attraction are either there or they are not and it usually doesn't take long to find out. If it is there, plan another date or extend the one we are on; if not, so be it, move on to the next suspect and don't give up.
