I am the mother of three grown men; my baby just graduated from ECU May 19 with his bachelor's degree in psychology. He is preparing to work with mentally challenged young people and their parents. My middle son is 26 and has been working with the prison dept since he got his certificate of justice in college. My eldest is 28 and is the reason my youngest is in the profession he is in. He is autistic,in college, studying library science 1/2 the day and working in the library the other half of the day.
I am a retired RN due to an on the job accident that left me unable to perform at the high levels a RN must do
I now can do most things well, except drive at night or long distances due to my sight changing
but I always tell the truth, I have to! My short term memory is shot--so if I tell you one thing, you'll always know it is the right thing!! If I get off balance and I am by myself they (the doctors) make me use a quad cane, but if I am with someone, I never use it. I am bad at running into doors, so I will have bruises on me most of the time, especially if I try to get into too big of a hurry. But I was at my high school reunion just back in April this year, and we danced the night away to the oldies, beach music, funky white boy, etc. and had a blast. Did not need the cane or anything! And did not fall down--in fact, one of my school chums had to leave with a migraine because of the music, and I did not ever even slow down except to find out if he was all right! I am a lady, even with this funny sense of humor that I have and I have a strong religious belief. But that is mine and I do not try and force it on any one, just explaining my own set of values. I hope you already have yours, because at this junction in life, one needs to already have their feet firmly planted. Believe me, mine are, and no wheedling or bartering will change my mind. I can look myself in the eyes when I go to bed and when I get up in the morning, knowing full well who is the driver of my life.
For a first date-----I would like to maybe meet for lunch or early dinner. We could sit and chat with our tea or coffee, I don't like many sweets right after a meal unless it is very light! Then take in a movie or go walking along the Neuse River or go to one of the area places where they play music we both enjoy or we could just play cards or scrabble at home after supper and listen to the Eagles"Long Road Out of Eden" and dance in the living room.
