You know, I've been off and on this site for a few years now. I've dated all kinds of interesting...and quite frankly some REALLY boring women from all walks of life. The fact is, I'm getting a bit jaded about this whole business. We hear the same complaints about both sexes...regarding honesty about their intentions and their list of prerequisites. Guys say they want a nice girl to settle down with, but then dissapear once they get a piece...and the women say they want someone funny and intelligent...but when they find out you don't have a car...or don't make a ton of money...they dissapear too. We've all had someone or another tell us exactly what we want to hear, only to find that like so many before, if was a sales pitch. Well, I'm tired of being sold...especially since I used to work in sales and know every trick in the damn book. I've definitely tried being completely open and honest...and now I've found that that's even worse than trying to just sell myself in the best light. So... how about we all drop our pre-conceived notions about relationships...courtship and all that b.s and just get to know one another. Let's skip the unwritten rules of dating and make our own way. I'll let you be you, and accept you unconditionally....but you must do the same. I don't know if I want to get married again...but I do know I want more children in my life and just as importantly, a good person to navigate lifes troubled waters. So, I'm going back to school to get my degree. That means that if you have a 2 year plan for a wedding in mind, I'm not the right man for you, however, if you're looking for someone who's working hard to make a better life for himself, his son and the other loves in his life...then how about giving me a wink or something and let's talk about the current state of affairs in the middle east...or the last band we saw...or the last gallery we visited...whatever...but for goodness sake let's just all be real with each other, cause I'm tired of surprises.

My idea of a great first date involves oppourtunity for lot's of conversation...some fun...a few laughs and generally a good time out with someone who genuinely enjoys meeting and learning about new people. The where or when is much less important when you keep those ideals in mind...but for the record, I think a walk by the lake where I treat you to ice cream or a nice hot chocolate is about as good as lifes simple pleasures get. And I'm all about life's simple pleasures.
