SCENE 2 INT. COFFEE SHOP-NIGHT.

MARK sits at a table in the coffee shop. he is waiting for his
date he has never met. He is restless in his chair. and
argues with himself.

MARK
(To himself)
This is crazy. What are you doing?
Just do it. Don't be an idiot. All
You have to do is not be an idiot
or crazy. Now I am actually crazy cause
I'm talking to myself in a public
place.

MARK turns and gives a little wave and a smile to an old couple
that was watching him talk to himself. The old couple  are a
little embarrassed and return to their own matters. MARK
notices a woman entering the coffee. It is her. He knows it.
He waves and she waves back. The woman makes her way towards
MARK.

LESLEY
Mark?

MARK
Yes!(points at himself) Yes, I'm
Mark. (gets up) Have a seat?

LESLEY
Sure.(smiles and sits down)

MARK
Wow. So, here we are. Meeting.
Meeting for the first time.

LESLEY
Ya.

MARK
Met on the internet. Now meeting in
real life. Crazy.

LESLEY
Ya, it is.

MARK laughs and then there is an awkward pause of silence.

MARK
So, how are you doing?

LESLEY
Good. Just been real busy with
school.

MARK
Ya, everyone is busy this time of
year. So, how you doing?

LESLEY
You just asked me that.

MARK
I did? I did! (laughs) I did. I
did. I did. (knocks on the table)
I'm sorry I'm just just a little
nervous. I've never done this
before. You know? Met someone 
Online.

LESLEY
Me neither. It's OK.

Another pause of silence.

MARK
I'm not killer.

LESLEY
What?

MARK
I'm not a killer. I don't kill
people.

LESLEY
That's good.

MARK
I don't steal either. I've never
stolen anything in my life.

LESLEY
That's good too.

MARK
Do you want something to drink? I'm
going to go up and grab something.

LESLEY
Yes please. Um, a French vanilla.
Thank you.

MARK
I'll be right back.

MARK Turns around and mouths "what are you doing" to himself and
continues to the Cashier.

MARK
HI.

GIRL
Hey, what can I get you?

MARK
Um, A Coffee, two and two and a
French vanilla.

GIRL
Awesome.

MARK
And I'm not going to steal it.
(laughs) Cause I'm not a stealer.

GIRL
I'll get your drinks.

MARK
That would be great. (to himself) 
You don't steal? Killer? You are a
fricking idiot. Who says that? Who?

MARK turns and looks at the girl standing there watching him 
talk to himself.

GIRL
Your drinks?

MARK
Yes! Thanks.

MARK quickly grabs the drinks and heads back to the table.

MARK
Hey. Here you go. (hands  her the
coffee)

LESLEY
Thanks.

MARK
So, um... Well, I already asked you
twice how you were doing.

LESLEY
(smiles)
So, how are you doing?
